Beggars belief!

Now we have orange, yellow, red and purple all on sreen at the same time. We love to critic the set, however a red sofa's a step back. Bring back the purple sofa!

I can't believe everyone is saying "bring back the purple sofa's". To date, the purple sofa's have been slated! Obviously there is a set change coming (which I believe has also been confirmed on Twitter by the set designer), plus we know that there is a terrace currently being erected so the red sofa obviously ties in with the forthcoming changes. Personally, IMO it looks ok. It suits the space rather than there being a big, empty, open space (that people have always complained about and said that the set doesn't look "warm" enough).

... and Chiles' suit just adds to the revolting colour clash.

I mean people are banging on about 'Bring Back GMTV', but now it's getting slated for turning back into GMTV!? What's up with that!?!! Confused

This thread can be very strange.

I actually quite like the set now, it feels warmer. It does however clash with the purples both with the on-screen clock and around the sports zone/video wall.
I'm still not too keen on the theme music, it's very repetitive and needs some variation.

I suppose what they could do is introduce some purple cushions to the sofa area, as red and purple do compliment each other, as can be seen in the greeen room, where they have retained the old smaller purple sofas with red cushions.

I think the red looks much better for a breakfast programme. Yes, it clashes with the purple graphics, but it looks as if we're getting something new soon so what's with the big crazy rants?

It certainly can.

Looks like the morphing of Daybreak back to GMTV is almost complete!

Although it is good that the purple sofa raised money for charity I do wonder if it pre-planned. How easy is it to get a sofa like that at last minute?

I don't think it was coincidence!

Probably, at the very least I'd imagine they were getting the new sofa anyway, whether for use now or for the new set, and the producers suggested it to Ant & Dec once they found out what they were doing.
