With the spring flower bumpers, and all that, you can now tell this programme is aimed soley at women again.

Daybreak looked fresh when it started with a clean cut look and content actually aimed at men. Now its just GMTV again, what a shame.

Errm falling Ratings?

yeah maybe, but it doesn't appeal to me.

Please can you list some other things that don't appeal to you? I'd like to note them down. I've already got reasoned argument and common sense on my list but would like to add to them. thanks.

What a mess. They should have stuck with the purple sofa. It looked more modern. This red thing looks dated and out of place.

Daybreak needs to streamline itself much more in order to make sure it gets the right mix of news, features and other stuff. Something like:

6:00am - 6:02am: Main Introduction
6:02am - 605am: One Main Story led by Adrain
6:05am - 6:08am: One Main Story led by Christine
6:08am - 6:14am: News Headlines with Tasmin
6:14am - 6:20am: In the Mix
6:20am - 6:22am: BREAK
6:22am - 6:25am: Local News
6:25am - 6:28am: National Weather
6:28am - 6:30am: Comments and Conversation
6:30am - 6:33am: News Headlines
6:33am - 6:37am: Sports News with Dan
6:37am - 6:43am: NEWS STORY
6:43am - 6:47am: NEWS STORY
6:47am - 6:50am: BREAK
6:50am - 6:52am: National Weather
6:52am - 6:57am: TV Matters with Kate and Steve
6:57am - 7:00am: Discussion Time with other anchors.

Something along those lines - provide more news content.

That sofa looks bad, so typical and Breakfast like. The whole set has become a big orange mess. The old sofa was so nice with the desk and just simple surroundings before they turned it into an orange garden. Rolling Eyes

Somehow I feel the transition back to GMTV is almost complete. The red sofa looks awful on that set, completely the wrong colour, the purple worked well. Must admit I'm starting to give up on Daybreak, I seem to see more adverts than actual programme during the 20-30 mins I see of it in the morning.

Yep, I don't know if there are significantly more ads than the GMTV days but this is part of the problem.

As viewers I'd say we are a lot less tolerant of ads than we used to be given the prevalance of Sky +, PVR's etc. This lack of tolerance is magnified at breakfast when people probably only watch for short periods of time. And of course I understand that ads are a requirement for commercial TV, so you have to make sure that the content in-between is worth watching. And of course with Daybreak it simply isn't. Perhaps ITV need to do some product placement deals and get a coffee maker in shot behind Adrian. Very Happy

Daybreak's content is all over the place, you never really know what you are going to get and when, there is still too many of those phone in competitions and those 1 minute guides into the ads. Today we had a guide to interpretting dreams ?!!

I also think it's reaching the stage where personnel have to be changed. Let Adrian stick to football and other presenting duties, build up a career for Christine on light entertainment. I know he's unlikely to want to move from Sky, but I think a team like Eamon Holmes and Helen Fospero might stand a chance.

But to be honest I can't see that ITV (or any commercial TV broadcaster) can ever top the breakfast ratings again.

I actually quite like the sofa - on its own!
What the hell were they thinking - the graphics now look horrendous! I'm hoping they change them.
I actually turned the TV on this morning and thought - GMTV!!!!
I agree with the comments that are being made re. GMTV - I think towards the end it made some quite drastic improvements and I think Daybreak is slowly reverting to that format. Who know what will happen but they need to sort it!!!

Well it was funny this morning when they were ending Peter Kay was asked what he will be doing for the rest of the day by Adrian for a second time in a few short minutes, to which he recapped and then said I am Geraldine Mcqueen and this is GMTV, to which Christine replied more or less.

I have to say that the colours of the sofa area are now exactly as GMTV had in its last incarnation.

I also don't like the sofa cause it's too big and in one part. The last one was split and looked nicer, also didn't hide the windows, now the whole set looks cluttered and bad.

I agree, it now looks very cluttered. They should drop the blinds and remove the orange and yellow screens, especially when its daylight. Over the next few weeks with the clocks going forward it might be a bit dark at 6am, but nothing they couldn't solve by presenting the first half hour or or so from the clock wall and then moving around the sofa as it gets lighter.
