I didn't see much beyond 7am but todays coverage was handled very well. The 6-7am hour worked very well being more news orientated, I'm not sure how much that continued throughout the show. That is something that should be extended beyond the Japanese coverage, as should Adrian & Christine reading out the main story.

With regards to the blinds, I think it looks much better when quarter way up and as a result the screen doesn't look out of place anymore. It does look very GMTV, but considering the flop Daybreak has been that is no bad thing. The purple sofa looks out of place now, so perhaps it could be worth replacing it completely instead of getting a replica if Ant & Dec are auctioning it off.

Didn't see this mornings Daybreak as I am off work this week, so if anyone has any caps please, if not I will have to see tomorrow.

Regarding Sue Jameson, she had been in the studio a lot and doing reporting as well, so she must have some leave to take.

Ant & Dec taking the sofa? Is this just an excuse so they can have a new one?

EDIT: Just seen a clip on Daybreak site, windows look good, as long as they do move them lower, a much improvement on the yellow blinds but they were pretty good for the dark winter days.

Windows and blinds - The windows have a photo-electric film which can be lightened. They are dark in the normal state, made light by applying a voltage. The blinds are floor to ceiling, can be positioned how you like, and are motorised so can be remotely controlled.
Sue Jameson is on leave until next week.

Hi Anoilyrag,

Can you confirm if there will be a completely different look sofa next week after Ant 'n' Dec auction off the current sofa? Or will they just have a replica?

Thanks.

Adrian and Christine both handling this really sensitively and well. It does feel that they are both feeling uncomfortable linking to the Olivier Awards immediately after discussing the main story today. Re the blinds, I'm sure they are new - the others went top to bottom, these seemingly go bottom to top and they just feature the boxed Daybreak logo rather than different sized words, it looks good, I think the new tv screen is here to stay too, it now seems a regular fixture. Good to see that they can handle big news and not be drawn to the showbiz. Is anyone worried about Sue? Not seen her for ages....

Christine was close to tears in the 7 "In the Mix"

I only saw the first 15 minutes but well done to them this morning, an example of how it should be, shame I had to go to work. Also good to see John Stapleton back, even though he was only in the mix. But I liked the 1/4 up blind effect, works well when the sun is just rising, as it was at 6ish today.

I hear it's going to be red with the logo engraved in the wood behind the guests.

In that case, the transformation back to GMTV is complete! I take it the set up and style will be the same as now?

I recorded Daybreak this morning (sad I know Embarassed ) to skip through and see how they approached the rest of the show. I was surprised and there were definite elements of the initial premise of Daybreak- to be a more upmarket breakfast show. There was also some business news in there, albeit to do with Japanese stock shares, but in all it did work very well. They should consider taking some of the elements and making them more permanent.

I thought they might of just given them one out of the green room as there almost the same.
