I'm currently watching Daybreak today for the first time in a few weeks, and I must say, I think it's an absolute mess this morning.
Adrian really appears as if he hasn't a clue whatsoever what he is doing and what he is supposed to be doing
Added to this, the chat to Nick Dixon was really horrible - several moments of awkward silence etc
The last few editions I've managed to catch, it was certainly improving, so not sure what is happening this morning
I also haven't caught any Daybreak for a long while. I see they've got rid of those silly flowers - it really does look a lot better. Last time I saw it looked like a rainforest.
Jenson Button did work well with Dan, not sure if it was planned to use Jenson like that but he has since presented a Valentine feature on the Brand New OKTV! on Channel 5/ 5
or what I still would like to call it FIVE
If anyone is interested, here are a few audience index figures courtesy of 'Bushmills' on Digital Spy.
Daybreak (ITV1, Feb 1) - 67
Daybreak (ITV1, Feb 3) - 67
Daybreak (ITV1, Jan 31) - 66
Daybreak (ITV1, Feb 4) - 65
Daybreak (ITV1, Feb 2) - 63
Daybreak occupied the entire bottom 5 for that week and with a small audience that is certainly quite worrying. It does make you wonder if its worth ITV sticking with Daybreak and trying to make it a hit, trying something else or just doing a spectacular u-turn and bringing back GMTV. Part of the problem is probably anamosity towards Daybreak due to the very public ending of GMTV and that is near on irreversible. GMTV viewers were very loyal.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know AIs for Breakfast?

Yes here they are (rounded up to nearest whole number):
Out of interest, did ratings for "GMTV" include segments such as LK Today, whereas ratings nowadays will have Lorraine separate?
The main thing I've noticed about Daybreak is that it doesn't seem very long. When GMTV existed I could get up before work and put the TV on and sometimes flick past something of interest on GMTV. But now, by the time I get up, Daybreak is already long finished.
I think Daybreak should start at 6 and maybe continue til 9 before handing over to Lorraine; this way it'd catch those people who get up a bit later. Showing the Britney scoop at 8.30 would be preferable in my opinion than showing it at 7am and then having Lorraine on from 8.30.

The GMTV ratings were always 6-9.25am and Daybreak and Lorraine are done separately. If you lump Daybreak and Lorraine together, the figures will come out about the same as GMTV, probably a bit lower.
I agree about Daybreak seeming short, but theres not really much that can be done past the 9.25am boundary because of STV and UTV. The only solution I can think of is with Lorraine's segment being so popular, it could worth putting her back in the main studio (as good as hers is) so that she is tied in with Daybreak a bit better (could make people become more familiar with Daybreak brand). It would probably also help them cut costs here and there e.g. they wouldn't have to build the set and take it down then put the Loose Women set up every day and they wouldn't need 2 separate crews in the morning. Plus she could go in HD too. The whole Daybreak thing has already cost them enough and they're clearly not making much back from it.

Daybreak: 6:00 - 9:00
Daybreak with Lorraine: 9:00 - 10:00
If Stv and Utv don't like it they can opt out and loose viewers

I've often thought Lorraine should be on 09:00-10:00, but one problem with this is, what would fill the gap of half an hour. Another thought I had was having Lorraine on at the above time and then This Morning 10:00-12:00 (It would make a lot of sense too, considering the show is currently on till 12:30 thus not really fitting the title past midday) but one thing that strikes you is the similarities between Lorraine and This Morning, that's why I think Jeremy Kyle splits them well.
