Christine presenting with someone who's not Adrian this morning!! (Dan Lobb)

They're not live pictures. Most regions have 2 or 3 different recorded versions for daylight, dusk and evening.
the ITV website used to have links to loads of live cameras, some of which were used as the regional news backdrops, like Granada for instance
I'm curious to know how GMTV was doing at this stage, four months in, Daybreak needs at least a year to bed down
Why can't they use the regional news backdrops? I'm sure they're live cameras?

I enjoy parts of the programme now. Some of the segments and items are a turn off, but the laughter is really quite contagious, and they do seem to get the best from the guests I've watched.
That said, "a year to bed down" in TV terms is wishful thinking, Steve. It has to be making headway long before that, or its money down the pan, and no broadcaster - least of all ITV - can afford that.
Fortunately it is improving; at least to the point where I can flip over from Breakfast and have it on for 10 minutes at a go.

Surely it's not hard work to broadcast on +1 without a clock, or even overlaying a +1 next to the clock?

Fantastic quip spotted on Daybreak this morning that went along the lines of somebody texted in to "complain" that the studio clock was an hour behind, to which one could only assume the numpty was watching on ITV1+1.
Some people just shouldn't have access to TV.

No, its a big old (physical) analogue clock attached to the wall of the set. Its about 4ft wide.

Christine presenting with someone who's not Adrian this morning!! (Dan Lobb)
It surprised me... but I thinks shes better with Dan than Adrian
They should have presenters like this:
Monday - Alternate Wednesday
Dan and Christine
Showbiz: Kate / Steve
Sport: Andrew Castle / Adrian
Alternate Wednesday - Friday

I think the programme is better without Adrian. He just isn't suited to that time of day and I do wonder if ITV are going to admit this sooner or later.
Hopefully..., I don't mide him but hes not for Daybreak

Which makes me think it was a joke.
The email actually said p.s. I'm watching on ITV1+1.

Surely most sensible people would've taken it as a joke!
Anyhoo, I have tried flicking over to ITV1 recently to see if there are any improvments. There are, undoubtedly, and not just with the set, which still perhaps needs changes.
However, it was nice to see that Christine Bleakley can present with someone else. She seemed more natural and less giggly than when Chiles is about.
I appreciate that ITV1 is a commercial channel, and that they must derive their income from advertising. But, 75% of the times I have switched to sample Daybreak I have encountered adverts, which made me turn back to BBC One immediately.
I understand that commercial breaks can be averaged over a number of hours in order to conform to Ofcom restrictions, but I'm not sure whether 'ITV Breakfast' is still treated as a separate accounting period. It may well be, because of STV, UTV and Channel.
Perhaps it would be better if, in the interim, they tried moving some of the commercial break times to later in the morning, leaving Daybreak with fewer commercials and a greater chance of keeping/building an audience.

While it might sounds like a contradiction, where I like BBC Breakfast because of its rigid/consistent timings, I quite like that Daybreak takes commercial breaks.
It rather provokes me to get on with the business of getting ready for work - I can put contact lenses in or pack my bag while one is on.
I'm also finding Christine's (presumably genuine) hysterics at most of Chile's banter quite uplifting.
