Tamzin is fantastic btw, only jealous people wouldn't like her. So sexy people can't read the news?

Tamzin might be great, whoever she is. However Tasmin, the newsreader on Daybreak, is distinctly average...

Why because she used to model? That's the only reason isn't it?

Sadly I formed my opinion of Tasmin's abilities watching her on BBC Three and BBC News - long before the tabloid pix appeared (which I think are largely irrelevant), and I don't doubt her Oxford PPE credentials.

However on-screen she never struck me as a particularly fluent presenter, always slightly too glued to autocue and not comfortable enough to confidently adlib around stuff. Never entirely comfortable to watch.

She sounds as though she always has a cold, to be honest. Fluffing at least one line a bulletin.

(This was originally shown on BBC TV back in the 70's. Ronnie Barker could say all this without a snigger, though God knows after how many takes.

The irony is, BBC received not one complaint.
The speed of delivery must have been too much for the whining herds. Try getting through it without converting the spoonerisms [and not wetting your pants] as you read.......)

Very entertaining BBC World, but it's a complete urban myth that Ronnie Barker ever performed this on TV. This transcript has been doing the email rounds for years. Although he did do several spoonerism sketches, he never did anything as near the knuckle as this.

Watching yesterday from what I seen I did not think Katy was very suited to daybreak. It was a typical children’s presenter/DJ who was trying to appeal to young people but miserably failed she was flirting with Dan, very much lead by Dan in presenting and this type of programme just is not suited to her. As acconell said on the last page it was very much GMTV. Full of gossip and general chit-chat. However I thought Fred was fantastic I’m used to seeing him in our region and he never fails to deliver a fantastic informative and entertaining forecast. Lucy doing the news reminded me a bit of Romilly Weeks style of Newscasting. I thought she did fine and I think was a lot better than Cordellia when she filled in. In regards to the comment about no chemistry you cant have both either its a serious programme or its just gossip.

Today I watched it was much better to have Kate back, Andrea seemed rather awkward . I like her when she fronts ITV News of a weekend and when she’s done the 1:30 however she just seemed a bit out of place to me did not look entirely comfortable. I think Daybreak needs to go back to how it was on the first day it had plenty of news and reports the presenters brought the first full report and then Tasmin would round up the news and then Adrian and Christine would be joined by the Editors and Correspondents to go through it in more depth.

As for Tasmin on Day One I watched her and she did make mistakes and look quite nervous however since then she has settled and now brings quite a good delivery. I think it is unfair of House to say she is not experienced enough she has worked in News, Sport and Entertainment all be through another route. She is not some glimmered up model for a start she has qualifications she went to Oxford and then went on to Zee TV where Bill Clinton was among her interviewees. She’s worked on Radio and also worked as a London correspondent for another asian network were she covered stories such as 7th July 2005 London Bombings. She’s presented a sports show for channel 5 and done short updates for bbc as well as entertainment. And if your opinion she has no experience Sophie Rayworth hardly had any when she joined breakfast, Sian Williams was just a producer when she got chose for BBC News 24. There two of the highest profiled newscasters in the UK you have to start somewhere otherwise were going to run out of newsreaders. She is no worse than most of the headline presenters on Sky News.

Can't you? Simon McCoy and Carrie Gracie are perhaps the best example, but there are numerous examples of interaction between news presenters and their colleagues on respected news channels. Heck, occasionally you even get a little bit on Al-Jazeera English

So in Ginofish's world, Bill and Sian wouldn't be allowed to have chemistry on Breakfast then, a programme where they successfully mix the serious and the not so.

Yes there co-presenters they have 3 and half hours to have chemistry whilst Tasmin has 5 seconds to hand over every half hour. And when Bill and Sian have chemistry its proper chemistry unlike the fake chemistry on daybreak when they track and make jokes about the journey of someone taking them a curry.

You've just said it's not possible, then tried to cover yourself with the comment in bold . How naïve of you.

I do believe the quality of Daybreak has lowered since September, with ITV changing it to the way they see fit when I believe the format they had in September was probably the best. It was cleaner. Bill and Sian on Breakfast are wonderful though, so I may start switching over to Breakfast.

I think this is one of the things that makes the NBC Today (Daybreak's supposed model) great - it's a real family and they love what they are doing and I guess that's not seen on ITV Daybreak. Also, the video is amazing, if it was done in 1 take.

Nice of the NYPD to close the public highway off.
If ITV tried something like that I bet Tasmin would have made the first mistake.

Hmm... judging by the Facebook page wall comments, Kate and Dan seem to be pretty popular (even begging for them to be the main hosts instead of Adrian and Christine)

This is a plea to the producers of Daybreak......when Daybreak started i switched off because i simply can not watch Chiles and Bleakley, but this week i switched back and have loved watching Kate and Dan....they are happy, friendly and a joy to watch in the morning...they have brightened up the start of every day this week. I am sure there are so many people out there just like me so please please please make Kate and Dan your main presenters, you will have us flocking back in our droves...it would be a shame to need to go back to BBC Breakfast after Christmas x
