People expect because BBC Breakfast is serious and boring, stuckup and always shamingly plugging BBC shows, that every other breakfast show should be. People can't get it into their heads that not everyone wants serious rolling news in the morning.
I think Breakfast is professional and well made. People see men in suits and think it's all po-faced and serious all the time but it isn't. Bill Turnball is brilliant. And Breakfast plug BBC shows the same way Daybreak plugs ITV shows. And as well they should.
At least Daybreak has a broad spectrum to plug shows, not like Breakfast where its always Stricly or Doctor Who. Daybreak and GMTV always pluggs shows from other brodcasters regulary. And no they shouldn't really on public money.
It would be ludicrous to have a BBC show and not mention other BBC programmes on it. Swap Shop, Going Live and Live & Kicking did it as has Blue Peter. People always use the licence fee as a stick to beat the BBC with. The BBC would be mad not to talk about shows on their own channel. And Breakfast have promoted ITV shows as well during interviews.
