I feel Christine will really struggle with serious interviews with politicians, and handling breaking news, say on wars and conflicts etc.

I don't see Christine struggling at all when she's with Adrian. He asks questions of one sort, Christine has always been brilliant at asking the questions that reconnect with the audience - "the questions you'd have asked" etc. Christine and Adrian interviewed all the main party leaders on The One Show - and none of their interviews were embarassing.

I'd be much more worried about Tasmin Lucia Khan than Christine if I were at Daybreak. Let's hope she's just asked to read an autocue and not do anything more...

Christine has a bit of experience at local level in northen ireland I believe and take for example Alan Brazil's interview with Alistair Darling post budget it made for great listening and he didant have a news background . the fact is Christine is yes others such as Sian will have interviewed heavyweights on a regular basis but she still can connect with the audience ask the questions they want asking and maybe i would have prefered some more newsy I think she will do fine.

Tamsin is an intresting one prior to her apointment on daybreak I had only seen her on 60 Secs but didant know her name and despite the bulk of her work being in entertainment she has also covered sports and reported on the top uk storys to a Asain network and I Think give her time to settle she will be okay and i assume she would be a cover for Christine and Kate when they both cant present the main show.

On your last point - if I can understand it - I assumed Grainne was cover for Christine, and Kate would presumably come after both of them?

Well Grainne has filmed a report about poverty in New Dehli, so that is her type of role as Features Editor. Stories which aren't really in the news, but are interesting and thought provoking to the audience.

The Facebook group is now officially 'Daybreak' - a mixture of good and bad comments from fans. I assume most will tune in on Monday anyway. Richard Madeley said on Sky News this morning that the show will probably have a rocky start but slowly steady out, like 'Richard & Judy' first did on Channel 4. I hope he's right.

Also, something regarding the set - where is the weather coming from? I really hope it isn't the newswall - those lines wouldn't look good at all. I can't see a CSO anywhere though?

Ah I Understand thanks.

Regarding the weather will they still do the occasional OB at special events and could the weather be done on a projection on the IKEA Wall.

I probably won't be the most enthusiastic about this new show, but it does make you feel: I wish BBC Breakfast would make a bit more effort.

I'm sure the Breakfast team would love £1.5million to make some effort with - and a fully crewed studio with fully manned cameras and no requirement to re-set for Newsnight, Newsround, Hardtalk, The Politics Show and the Andrew Marr Show between their shows (with only two or so people to physically do it). They have a standing set just for their show 2.5 hour daily show - the BBC have to use the same studio for a lot more than 2.5 hours day, and have to run their studios with far fewer people.

Daybreak are very sensibly putting their money on the screen - and they have a lot more of it than Breakfast.

They have clearly looked at what Breakfast CAN'T do - and done it...

It just might get that when it moves to Salford Wink But the Thames will be replaced with The Manchester ship canal.

I see the homepage of itv.com is now flanked by these two

And as for cover presenters for Adrian & Christine, if they are from the existing team I can see Grainne Seoige or Kate Garaway covering for Christine, and Dan Lobb for Adrian.

Off-topic, but I was going to mention that. Presumably, their studio will be kitted out specifically for them, so it will obviously look better, and HD capable.

Will the budget be therefore bigger for Breakfast in Salford? I was told that they will move there at least near the end of 2012, so a while yet.

I would bet on Grainne and Dan as cover. I can't see them wanting Kate as cover, as she was main presenter at GMTV.

GMTV would have faired better if Kate and Ben had the main job four days a week. I can see Dan being better on Daybreak, but was not suited to GMTV. I am glad they doing away with that cosy dark feel that GMTV had. Daybreak should look fresh and open. It really is a magnificent view they have, and hopefully will look even better in HD.

And as for comments about being too London Centric, if you can't display your capitals skyline on a programme such as this, then it really is a worry.

That image would lead me to assume that Kate and Dan are cover for Adrian and Christine (look at the autocue screen)
