It's strange how they're marketing Lorraine with Daybreak, when they have made it clear that they are two different programmes, only sharing ITV Breakfast as the production team.
Makes sense to launch them both at the same time as they are jointly the replacement for GMTV and sister shows.

It's also strange that they describe Daybreak as "ITV's new-
look
breakfast show" when it would be more accurate to just say "ITV's new breakfast show". The Lorraine programme is also described as having a 'new-look' but that is more understandable since it is an existing programme.
It looks like theres an area off to the left of the set, so we still have to see the news/weather/performance area.
The studio does go quite a way down to the left, at an angle to the window you see in the photo. When London Tonight were there that bit was used as a performance area amongst other things, it is all windowed but the view isn't as good
I'm liking what I see so far, and the only thing I really dislike is that table. Looks like a Hallowe'en party or something. As per the content, I hope there will be a good mix of news/current affairs and lighter items and that they don't revert to fluffy old GMTV after a few weeks.
Does anyone know when Lorraine ends. On the itv.com/daybreak website it says "Lorraine, from 8.30am – 9.30am." But in the press pack it says till 9:25.
Must just be me who isn't so keen on it then. It looks a bit like what you'd get if you asked Ikea to design the old BBC News studio. There's no interesting details to the design, and it's almost completely bereft of colour - although I do notice there appears to be some LED units in the roof (compare to the Lorraine studio - lots of little detail, and lots of colour). It looks like they've gone for a very functional studio, and are just utilising the view to add interest to the picture. But with the windows that visible, they could have some very "interesting" problems with sunlight (dark mornings aren't the problem - it's the bright sunny mornings that are), the vision engineers are going to have fun with that!
I shall hold off my final decision about whether I like it or not until I've seen it on the programme - it will look completely different, of that I'm sure - but at the moment, I'm not a fan.
