I can't believe we're discussing this aspect of the publicity shots so much - I really don't think it's issue.

Yes, newspapers will now have to rely on these shots of both presenters, but I really doubt viewers will switch off (or on to) Daybreak just because the Sun might print a picture of fake-tanned Christine in January.

At no point did I - or to my knowledge anyone else - suggest viewers "will switch off" because of the photos. I was simply saying that from a publicity perspective I'm sure the team aren't as ecstatic as they could have been over the photos. Love them or hate them Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley are the thing to promote and push in people's faces and I personally know some marketers, photographers and designers who would have been mildly disappointed by photos that will no doubt have to be redone at a later date.

My comment was never meant in a particularly negative way to either the Daybreak team or to Christine Bleakley, and was more saying that (as someone who deals with professional and promotional shots, marketing and advertising on a fairly regular basis) those shots aren't 100% perfect.

Okay. But I still think these pictures are likely to be plastered all over the papers on Tuesday, and can't envisage newspaper or magzine editors refusing to run them in future articles simply on account of seasonal weather. And if that proves to be the case, they'll have done their job, 100% perfect or not.

Anyway, hopefully there'll be some shots of the studio on Tuesday as well ... so we can lay into them too (joke).

Again, I at no point claimed newspapers would be "refusing to run them" based on time of year or use of fake tan, but that the photos themselves aren't perfect. That was all.

Think of it this way - if you could go out in muddy clothes or clean clothes, I'm guessing you'd choose the clean clothes. The muddy clothes aren't going to stop you buying eggs and ham at the shop, but you'd still rather go clean.

This thread gets even more bizarre. As if these are going to be the only publicity shots ever to be taken for Daybreak. Come launch day there will be loads of press photos of the presenters on the set, on their way to work etc

These type of press shots are very rarely used for anything important. If a story is decent enough the press will get their own pics rather than some posed, airbrushed shots provided by the TV company.

The press launch seems to have began, with a producer on Twitter commenting that '100 reporters have been let loose on the new set and gallery'

Nonetheless, they are bloody awful.

Looks like ITV want to resurrect "Mind Your Language".

Christine Bleakley overdoes the fake tan as she reunites with Adrian Chiles ahead of TV return

With her return to TV screens looming, Christine Bleakley is obviously keen to look her best.

But as she posed for a photoshoot to promote her new show Daybreak it appeared she may have been seeking beauty advice from her fellow WAGs.

The presenter appeared to have layered on the fake tan in a typical footballer's wife style, with her skin boasting a dark glow.

Hundred reporters let loose on the #daybreak set and gallery. Winder what they'll make of it. They better not touch my BIG FECKOFF SCREEN!!

Ok, this is the only time I'm going to swear. The #daybreak set looks f**king jaw-dropping. Be afraid BBC Breakfast, the stakes are high.

Yes, some nice pictures. But why have they created ANOTHER Twitter account? First @ITVDaybreak now @Daybreak. Why don't they just change the name of the @GMTV account?
