Have you ever wondered if we had australias version of seven sunrise's graphics on daybreak and why not change the programme name as well.
Well no need to make a mock... Mel and koch think its our version of sunrise
Take a look...
Looks like the website will be updated for September soon, the rest of the team page no longer works

Some words from Christine Bleakley in the Daily Mail. Very telling how she herself thought it was too over-promoted by ITV.
'Daybreak was the victim of its own hype'

Quote:
The show was built up as the greatest thing to happen to TV for years. It meant that we were asking to be shot down. The critics went to town on me and Adrian (Chiles). The show was slammed in every way, right down to the colour of the sofa we were sitting on. Our earnings seemed to be a national talking point. Of course the criticism hurt. It was a humbling experience. But the biggest lesson I took from it is that I’m not built to get up at 3am every day. No alarm clock should ever go off at that time.

you can do that with 2 presenters in 47 HD, but you are aware that set is ancient?
It's going soon anyway!
I hope the Newshour set is one of those sets that you can put the camera side on at the desk and shoot against a monitor, like CBS Evening News..although two presenters may be a problem.

I know that it has been there since Katie Couric, not sure how long before that? It's ancient, but the design is good, from the front you have the normal backdrop and a screen at each side, then at the side it looks like a totally different studio because its one whole screen. CBS Evening News or The Daily Show would be a perfect way to gp.

Just for your information, Kate Garraway, of all people, is presenting the BBC Radio 5 Live Breakfast on Saturday and Sunday.
Given that she's a very ITV face (voice in this case!), it's strange indeed to go for Kate. Perhaps she may give a few ideas to her bosses with regards to how to do a Breakfast show, albeit on radio.
She was very competent (and serious) when she started on BBC News 24 back in the day, so by going back to the BBC she is revisiting her roots. She deserves better than her current position on Daybreak. If she had any sense, she could see she is capable of greater things this weekend.

I remember her and Simon McCoy doing Sunrise on Sky before she joined GMTV. Still my favourite Breakfast duo ever. GMTV destroyed her.

Kate did a good job in the GMTV years, particularly towards the end when she was the second female presenter behind Fiona. She was fairly understated and had the ability to flip between serious and light items, yet when Fiona left and she became the main presenter, her ego spiralled out of control. The same happened on Daybreak- she was back to being quite grounded when it first started, yet when Christine left she has since returned to being a top class irritant. She's ruined herself, not ruined by anyone else or the format, and although she is capable of better things, I'm not sure anyone other than ITV would employ her.

I wouldn't say she ruined herself, just appealed to what the bosses want. Perhaps this is the reason why she is still here and her GMTV co-hosts are not.
