Just watched it online ... sad to see Craig go but at least I had the pleasure of working with him - a really nice guy and will be missed by the team in Plymouth. Sounds like he'll be back to cover for David which is good news.

Yes I thought the show was very well thought out... I was watching it online and was actually expecting the little "Goodbye Craig" graphic to pop up on the screen at the end of his forecast.

It won't be the same without Craig, he has become the face of the South West, but at least he hasn't completely vanished from our screens.. who knows, if David takes some time off for Christmas, Craig might be back sooner than he thinks!

I watched it online and thought it was a fitting tribute - Justin and Teresa genuinely seemed to be upset about it. I get the feeling it's a pretty close-knit team at Plymouth, they (and the viewers) will miss him.

As I'm sure Nicky S will confirm, T&W, YES it's a very close-knit team in both Plymouth AND Truro.

Well, I've finally got round to watching it online. It may be 4 years since I last lived down in Devon "full time" but as I still have family down there it was alwasy nice to know that, when I visited, I'd get a decent forecast (Westcountry please note!!)

Its a shame to see him go, but everyone has to retire sometime. Hopefully David Braine will do just as good a job in the future.

I somehow manage to miss it, and have just caught up with it from the website (when will the beeb start increasing their use of broadband quality streaming? 45Kbps does not look or sound nice, and surely they could at least get the main edition of each regional news bulletin up to a decent bitrate for broadband users?). A fitting tribute to Craig there, and nice to hear that he's still being kept in reserve. He's set a record which I doubt will ever be beaten and will be missed.

I loved it! What a great send off to a true pro! It won't be the same with that smary one - David.
Also I have worked out for that thing along side is....it's a screen with the weather graphics on. I always wondered what that was.

A bit off the topic, but seems a the Spotlight thread didn't last, I noticed last night Spotlight have gone back to their "winter" titles. Which leaves one question- Will we see the "summer" titles again?? I hope so!

Craig will be missed by many people down here. I hope that DB will get as friendly to the Spotlight team and Craig was.

It is - mainly because many of the staff there have been there for years and years - Teresa and Natalie on sport have got to be some of the BBC's longest serving regional presenters (along with Stuart White in Norwich). The team work together to produce a really high quality show (I get Look East these days and I know I'm biased but Spotlight just produce a better show).
