Its too London esq.

I can't stand arguments and comments like this.

You haven't substantiated it at all. In what way do you believe it's too London-esque? Does this impact on your day to day enjoyment of the content of the channel? Is it really that noticeable?

Forgetting the longing for regionality I do think the ITV of today is in a much better positition than it was 12 years ago - at the moment they've got a pretty well balanced schedule with plenty of original drama throughout the week and more importantly more entertainment shows across the schedule.

Regional wise I do think there should still be space for at least 30 minutes in primetime every week and that regional content shouldn't just be about politics. Ideally they're regional focused one way or another but I've no issue with a quiz show or cookery show being commissioned at a local level and I think from ITV's point of view it would be no bad thing to let the regions try out a few ideas which could ultimately become shows for the network as a whole.

There is bound to be a brief return of regional programming for the 60th Anniversary next year. Whether they would bring back regional identification for that period, I dunno. How they would do that when there is so many stations, I dunno either.

Just make sure the anniversary celebrations are as long as BBC Two's who have been celebrating their 50th with their idents for a long time now....

Any possibilities or suggestions?

For their 50th they became itv50 with special idents, do we expect something like this? Back then they had a few documentaries and also the games how marathon.

I suppose there might be special Regional programmes stating the history of each Region as there was for ITV 50. However times have moved on greatly since then, therefore I think this sort of programming will be done as a feature within the 6pm News. I'm sure there will be a National series about ITV's history though.

As for Regional TV these days from ITV, a totally sub-Regional News service and a weekly Pan-Regional Political programme should be the bare minimum (and probably the maximum too) we should expect from the Channel 3 franchise holders in England.

It's more Nationally shown programming based in the Midlands that I want personally...

I did record a couple of episodes onto DVD, but I did upload the best segments from the series onto YouTube a few years ago....

If anything I would have liked to see these things retained from the regional years, and brought back now.

Region name on the pre-regional news idents, like the BBC do (cheap)

a single weekly slot for a regional programme, which could alternate between Tuesday 7:30, weeknight 10:35 or Sunday 6:00 depending on the season (expensive)
tweedledum, MarkT76 and Rijowhi gave kudos

Tyne Tees had a bulletin board type thing every day, called Lookaround (not to be confused with the Border TV news programme of the same name). Even having something like that, done in vision, a short five minute segment, every day, in the early afternoon, would be cheap, and give ITV a local personality.
