I can’t remember that ever being the case. The first few series didn’t have an eviction for 2 full weeks, and the first series never actually had a “launch” show. The first episode showed them entering (which was very low key) but also showed the first few days’ worth of content. You may be getting confused by the amount of coverage each day got rather than the length of episodes?

I think it might actually be the case that indeed the first few days only had very short episodes. As you say, the first show was on a Tuesday, a few days after they'd already gone into the house, but I think they might have only done brief updates for the first week. It wasn't until series 3, wasn't it, when they actually went in live.

That isn't the Australian logo - they use an updated version of the C5 template, which for a while was used internationally.
They did in 2012-2014. Then it got cancelled. It just came back on a different network, and that logo I posted is their current one.

Somewhat related to BBUK, isn't the music in the Pink Casino sponsor bumpers the same music used in one of DeMarkay's mocks?

I'm glad someone noticed! Yes it is.

Does anyone remember the comedic documentary shown after BB9, which mercilessly ridiculed the housemates after they'd left the house?

They had "What the Housemates Did Next" in some form from BB3 to BB9 I think. Think the one for BB3 was actually just "What Jade did Next".

I’m the sure the episodes in the very first week (post the launch show and pre the first eviction) were only about 10 or 15 mins?

Was an hour on Tuesday and half an hour on Friday, with 5 minute updates on Wednesday and Thursday. The regular Monday to Friday schedule began in week 2, with a late night omnibus on Saturdays.

In the second series - the best series - they had a show on Saturdays called Big Brother Reveals More, which I used to really enjoy, it featured some things they hadn't had time to show on the daily programmes so it was often the sillier and more whimsical bits, and it would end with the eviction from the housemates' perspective. One of the downsides of having more daily episodes is that you lost the more reflective, low key stuff like that.

Absolutely agree and the Live Task shows they replaced it with were never big enough challenges to justify being live. An omnibus of sorts returned with Diary Room Uncut later in the run but the BB2 show struck the right balance between recapping the week and adding new content.

Ultimately I think in the end the commitment expected from viewers was too much with hour long shows every single night for 3 months compared to largely half hour shows 5 nights a week for 2 months in the first few years. The Saturday episodes featuring action from Friday were never that great as other than the eviction, which we'd seen the night before, it was a quiet day in the house.

P.S. Surprised they didn't cut the Barrymore sketch.

For all the other BBs it was a genuine doc, the BB9 one was presented by someone called Lee Kern and it was basically a total micky take, but I don't think the housemates were told the joke before they started. Lee wasn't a character as such but it was very much in the style of Ali G and fake characters interviewing real life etc. He later did some shows on C4/E4 called Celebrity Bedlam and one around the Royal Wedding in a similar style

It was on E4, then repeated on T4 the morning after.

It wouldn't just be June Sarpong presenting T4 would it?

Basically a BB All Stars without being a BB All Stars. Had a great version of the theme as well.

I've got a high quality version of the theme if anyone wants it?

So weird seeing people smoking everywhere, even in the bedroom. They must have done it right up to the smoking ban but I really don't remember them smoking indoors anywhere near as much as they have in these episode.
