This reminds me of Stars in their Eyes. The Harry Hill version rated so badly that it got axed.

We could see the same happen to It'll Be Alright On The Night if this version doesn't do well.

Rate badly? You say that as if the previous edition didn't rate 2.7 million.

Apparently they were trying to get Paul Merton to host but he wasn't interested.

To be fair how would we know if it was axed or not.

Neither the previous version of this new version appeared or will appear with any sort of pattern.

It’s obviously just something cheap that is used to slot in every now and then. They’ve used to old name to get a bit of brand recognition.

He'd have fitted the show nicely.

As was the case with the Denis Norden version during most of the 00's. Several episodes used a fake audience and canned laughter, with Norden stood in an empty studio at Northam.

There should just call it laughter file. Some Of the clips do not come under cock up...

That catchphrase one is deffo not one. Did the snake chamer every appear on alright? I'm sure that only appeared other shows like laughter file or it shouldn't happen to a game show.

This whole clips show is badly formatted and isn't even complyed corrected.

Yes. Snake charmer originally aired on IBAOTN.
It was given its own 'special single clip' status and Denis introduced it along the lines of 'recorded programmes like games shows where anything dodgy can be spotted before recorded so its perfect' or something like that.

Actually I've alway thought that the Catchphrase production team deliberately kept that one going during recording, instead of stopping and swapping for another animation, precisely because they knew it was out-take gold in the making.

The clip of that animation that most widely circulates is from the Alright On The Night cockup trip in 1996 (they included the catchphrases in between, most shows that have shown it edit them out). Though the wide circulation of that clip has led to people thinking it came from the original airing and Challenge edited the animation to be less naughty on their repeats, when most likely that was done by the production team at the time and was like it on the original ITV broadcast too.

Looks like it might be denied transmission once again as Russia v Croatia had just ended in a draw. The way things are going, if ITV scheduled this on a night where no football was being played, the Queen will probably hop it and wipe the schedules.

well it ain't now!

'Revenge of…' is currently scheduled for Tuesday at 9.15pm, after France v Belgium. Unless it goes to Extra Time. Which it no doubt will.

[edit]
Oh, hang on, I guess that's the first alternate schedule, presumably published on the basis that England didn't qualify. Well, maybe Wednesday after the England game after all?

SO that's it getting chopped again. Any chance it could end up after the England Semi final?
