God it's awful. Why is he talking over the majority of the clips?!

Plus every single one of these clips I've seen before. Just less drowned out with unfunny quips from David Walliams.

He needs to shut the hell up, the clips should do the talking NOT him.

This is exactly what I feared would happen when I heard it was to have no on-screen presenter and rely on a VO. The lack of painfully forced commentary and the presence of witty yet intelligent links from a presenter like Norden is what made Alright stand out from other shows of this type. If it ain’t broken....

The last few editions got quite poor ratings though, and the younger newer audience who doesn’t know the history found the concept of long rambling weak gags in between clips quite alien and not what they are used to coming from fast moving YouTube outtake videos, so you could say it was broken.

They seem to have pulled it from ITV Hub

Still on the ITV Hub channel on Amazon though as I’ve watched it this morning.

I've just tried looking for it through Amazon and can't find it.

The first episode has been rescheduled for Saturday at 9:15pm, straight after the Russia v Croatia game, so could end being dropped again if that overruns.

Maybe there know its Crap and are trying to hide it?

Would they take a chance on it airing after reasonably high rating football matches if they didn't think it was any good?

Absolutely agree with this 110%! Alright On The Night has been incredibly dated for many years, and I'm not in the least bit offended by this attempt to freshen it up.

What's fresh about a load of old clips with a voiceover ? That's the cut & paste Channel 5 style clip show way.

It's a long standing tradition to not enjoy the talky bits in between. IIRC Denis Norden himself referenced this practice during one episode. But I always felt that when Denis did it, even though he was arguably monotonous, it was like listening to a story told by your grandad. He had this elder statesman stature about him that was still somewhat tolerable. Griff, on the other hand, didn't have that. I always felt like he'd opt for the most predicable joke and deliver it with an unnecessarily large amount of enthusiasm, and often laughing at his own jokes that were often gratuitously weak. Having said that, I feel like AOTN isn't AOTN without the talky bits. ITV already have a couple of alternative blooper programme brands they could've dug up, or even started a new one. I wouldn't like to think such a prestigious brand has been watered down to a voiceover-led barrel of arse with Walliams doing his sh*t Frankie Howerd noises over it.

I tried looking for it as I missed the first episode but the google results for the series page and the episode itself have fallen off the hub completely
