More time for clips and no unfunny links that needed canned laughter to enhance the flat audience.

Sounds good to me.

Sounds more like a similar format to TV's Naughtiest Blunders with Neil Morrissey.

The problem with VOs instead of links is that sometimes there is too much speech over the clips. One line of dialogue can be helpful to tell us what to look out for, but otherwise I prefer the presenter/VO to let the comedy in the mishaps speak for themselves. We don’t need the likes of “Ouch, I bet that hurt” or “Just look at that lovely vase - what a shame if someone were to knock it over.... er.... oops” which you often hear on other bloopers shows.

I'm surprised there don't go to Dennis and record his voice and create one of those visalul effect Dennis. Like what itv did with les Dawson.

Retrograde. Massively retrograde.

Griff actually did something that in television which is quite tricky to pull off on a show there has only been one host*, and that is very quickly, make IBAOTN his own, to the point that whilst watching, you don't actually say to yourself "Denis wouldn't have introduced that clip in that way" or "That set of clips wouldn't have been shown in Denis's day".

So to lapse back to a CGI visual, real world audio Denis wouldn't work. Plus, he wouldn't do it anyway. His last broadcasting work was being interviewed a couple of years ago for BBC Radio 4 at his home by Robert Peston and Eddie Mair, because Eddie revealed afterwards that sadly, through a degenerative illness, it's reduced Norden's vision to being almost blind.

Let Denis appear in the repeats (or when you search for them on You Tube) and hope this incarnation bombs, and we get back to a proper host, on a proper set, with a proper real audience, in a proper studio at Television Centre or Elstree once this short run is over.

(*) Before Steve Williams turns up to remind me (Hi Steve!) Denis didn't quite present every single edition fully. For one part of a special 'It'll Be Late At Night' edition, Rory Bremner presented one part of that edition doing impressions and linking the clip packages, before doing an impression of Denis to finish, and in full flow, from stage left on walks..
well as Denis would no doubt have said "You can guess the rest"

Also I just couldn't envision today's ITV hiring a 96 year old comedy writer for any of their programmes nowadays.

What about Benidorm? I see that as the ideal show to cite to show ITV's comedy credentials.

Oh no. Nothing tops the 1990 theme.

Someone posted the full 3 minute track here a while back. Just as a piece of music in itself it’s beautiful.
