As far as I know, laser pens don't make you blind (a friend of mine demonstrated this by pointing one directly into her eye for a few seconds - silly, I know). It was quite cool actually, her eye lit up bright red - hehe.

That's true, the intensity of these lasers is (relatively speaking) very low - but having said that it's still not a good idea...
