did anyone see Today With Des & Mel today? Towards the right of the screen, by Mel, u could see David in his box! Is that a real window, or a projection?

Never saw that but on This Morning Phillip Schofield was saying they had wished the site was a bit further down the river so they could taunt him from the studio!

Well, unless they've moved since the last series, they're at Teddington Studios, which is no where near Mr Blaine and his plastic box.

It wasn't really him, it was just something they'd done to see if anyone spotted it in the background. They did.

yeah, they mentioned it today, it does look real from far away apart from the person in it does look a little big, and i thought today he hadnt moved a muscle.

This Morning began with Fern and Philip contained within a glass box talking about utter crap and eating some toast whilst reading The Daily Mirror. It was quite a funny sketch.

Des and Mel also featured a David Blaine reference today aswell.
The fake background to Des and Mel contains a River Thames type back drop including Tower Bridge. A small glass box with an actionman in was hanging from infront of the fake backdrop but behind the fake window with someone throwing golfballs at the box! It was also quite funny!

On my way to Greenwich this afternoon, transferring between the Circle Line and Docklands Lights Railway, I wandered down to the river to have a gawp.

It's all utter balls. The man is a joke. To be honest, I'm not really sure why I went to look (even though it was only about thirty yards out of my way). It's just a man sitting in a box. It could be bloody anyone.

You just know that he's going to "die" and that they'll have lots of "doctors" clustered around his body when they bring him out of there about ten days early... and then he'll appear on the top of City Hall or something.

David Copperfield's pulled this kind of crap stunt before, Blaine, and even when he did it it was a load of rubbish.

Perhaps I'd be more interested in Blaine if he was just standing in a completely clear box with nothing for 44 days (although it would still be unentertaining). But he could have anything in there - the crowd can't see him behind the sheets "shielding him from the sun", and nor can we when the camera is obscured or cut away to show Tower Bridge. Rubbish.

How far is he exactly from the London Studios?. Could Eammon Holmes have time to walk down to taunt him during a GMTV adbreak?

No, I think Tower Bridge is some distance from the London Studios. Somebody who frequents the place will know. Are the London Studios equi-distant between the Houses of Parliament and Tower Bridge ? No ?
It lies somewhere in between, I know that much. Laughing

the London Studios are about 20 mins walk from Tower Bridge at a brisk pace (with your AbForce belt to help you along).

At a *very* brisk pace, I'd say!

You've got to walk past the Oxo Tower, past Tate Modern, the Globe and Bankside, Southwark Cathedral, London Bridge railway station, and then some - it's a good couple of miles. And I'd be tempted to nip into a pub halfway along as well, so call it 40 minutes.

Maybe he's chosen that location so that fewer people will congregate to taunt him, and he won't be subject to the kind of media attention that he dislikes? Or so he thinks.

It's approx 2km - so less than 2 miles. I could probably do it in 20 mins, but you're right, 25/30ish is probably more realistic, especially with all the tourists and other obstacles to dodge.
