Because during the early hours he was exchanged with a body double and spent the best part of 3 hours eating and shagging his missus, before coming back to the cage just in time for the second window clean.[/quote]
so you got that from the tev mcdonald show.to me it doesnt matter if it was a fake,i think i like it better as a trick. but its the idea that is important, having nothing but whats in your head.if nothing else its interesting how he managed to provoke such wide spread distain.

He provoked widespread distain because he is a fraud masquerading as the 21st century Houdini, when he is nothing of the sort.

He should sod off back to where he came from. We don't need him here. We've already got Paul Daniels. We don't need any other tricksters here.

drop all your linguistical devices and trying to prove things and just think about the pure idea for a moment.despite yourself, you cant help being impressed can you?

I'm not impressed at all, because I know it was a trick.

I would be more impressed if he went on a quest to get food to starving children in the middle east, instead of sticking playing cards behind glass windows.

I'm sorry, but magic, by it's very nature is trickey, and it does not impress me.

its a sad thing you cant respond positivly to such things as art and magic.they are 2 of a few good, beautiful and pure things created by humanity.

Oh what a lovely thing to say. Rolling Eyes If it's so good, beautiful and pure, why is Mr Blaine pocketting a few million quid from this stunt? Let's not forget the irony of one person pretending to starve in a plastic box, when there are many people down the road living in cardboard boxes who are actually hungry.

"Millions watch a nobody starve. Nobody watches millions starve."

What a stupid stunt - selling a lie to the public and profiting too much of the world's hard earned dough in the process... pass me an egg please.....

As I said earlier, they can get away with it because it's happening in a public place. The area above the Thames where the box is hasn't suddenly become David Blaine's private property to be licenced out - ANYONE can take whatever pictures they wish and any broadcaster has every right to broadcast pictures of it. The difference between this and football matches et al are that football stadiums are private property - this isn't.

The Sky/C4 rights are purely for access to Blaine before and after the stunt, and as someone else said for access to the cameras inside the box.

I'm personally surprised that other channels haven't taken the same stance as the ITVNC - they could all be at it if they wanted to.

It's not that easy. There is/was a large cordon around the area immediately around the box which is/was Sky/Ch4 territory. There was nothing to stop anyone filming outside of that cordon, but it is difficult to do a 'live' in that area due to lack of road access.

Of course those broadcasters with access to neighbouring London City Hall had the upper hand

I don't think it was a trick as such, more a feat of endurance which isn't actually that difficult with the right training and in the right circumstances.

So it wasn't actually a very good trick, or an interesting one; it didn't raise any money for anyone other than himself; it didn't raise awareness of anything.

Can't see any purpose or merit in the whole venture at all, as could the majority of the public who reacted in their normal british cynical way.

That program was the biggest pile of **** that has been on TV for years

Why was no one presenting the program?
Why was the no direction to the program?
What the hell were those video clips all about?

Why in the background could I hear someone playing a hip-hop CD that every 30 seconds or so said "Mother fuc*er" I know it was after the watershed but there was no need for that nor was there the need for those naked woman. If this was the attempt of the director of that short film (to get people to talk about it) it has failed, anyone remember the director’s name? NO!

There was no warning of nudity or swearing at the start.

I was expecting a big show with a *well* know presenter a stage a big countdown and music and stuff.
I got so board of it after about 15 mins I switched over and just kept flicking back to see if it had improved

I though channel four were showing this at some point?

Just seen the from media Guardian

" Blaine finally stumbled out of his cage last night at the end of an hour-long show that was almost as much of an endurance test for viewers as the illusionist's own 44-day ordeal had been "

How true that was!
