Isn't it the fact that it's an event that is taking place in a public place. It's not like it's in a closed environment like a football stadium or somewhere ?
Sky's exclusive coverage is probably only limited to the cameras in the box.

I still don't know how the ITV News channel can get away with that.
Sky are so litigious that it's a bit of a risk to take.

As I said earlier, they can get away with it because it's happening in a public place. The area above the Thames where the box is hasn't suddenly become David Blaine's private property to be licenced out - ANYONE can take whatever pictures they wish and any broadcaster has every right to broadcast pictures of it. The difference between this and football matches et al are that football stadiums are private property - this isn't.
The Sky/C4 rights are purely for access to Blaine before and after the stunt, and as someone else said for access to the cameras inside the box.
I'm personally surprised that other channels haven't taken the same stance as the ITVNC - they could all be at it if they wanted to.

Oh honestly, how on the cheap is this programme ? Have they disposed of the presenter, and linking it by a booming Simon McCoy voiceover interspersed with spectators comments. Mind you Nicky Campbell was really poor, maybe he'll appear later.
How bizarre is all of this, Blaine stood there with what appears to be blood dripping all over him flicking cards at the screen. This is utter crap. All this stuff they are showing is padding, and nothing to do with this latest stunt. Why are Sky indulging this nutter to such an extent ?

Bizzare style from the show so far tonight. Was that Simon McCoys voice bellowing out at Tower Bridge?

I'd say a lot of the content of this pathetic show is being dictated by Blaine's people. If it's not, I'd worry!
I bet Channel 4 & Sky are kicking themselves. They put a lot of money into what became a national laughing stock. The problem is, whilst Americans thrive on these events, we do not. It hasn't done much for either channel's credibility.
Also, do you get the feeling that we're not seeing the whole side of the crowd on the live show? There's no way that the crowd is full of people calling him an "inspiration" (an inspiration to do what exactly?) etc.
