How banal and pointless is all of this ? What's the point of the "interactive" service. "Oh look, there's David Blaine, he's still in that box, he's not doing anything, yawn."
What's he going to try next, turning water into wine and that trick with the loaves and fishes ?
What's he going to try next, turning water into wine and that trick with the loaves and fishes ?

The Sky One show tonight was embarassingly poor. Not neccisarily the concept (although I do think it's a bit lame) but ah deary me.
The dreadful interview with David Blaine - he really doesn't suit interviews, cos he doesn't really suit talking.
The long pauses between questions and answers.
The inability to control the microphone on the presenter (forgot his name's) part.
Not knowing when going to ad break.
And of course getting to look at a fuzzy camera of a pyshco hallucinating about his mother in a glass box.
Ho hum...

to be honest i doubt many people would care if he popped his clogs, hes a tiresome bloke. of course if he did die we wouldn't be allowed to see it live on telly anyway.
i think the acute lack of interest on the forum mirrors real life, where i don't think people are in the slightest bit interested.

Quick - call the papers!! Square Eyes and I AGREE on something!!!!!
David Blaine is a berk - I can see the 'worst case scenario' books having a field day with this - "how to survive if terrorist militants suspend you in a perspex box over the Thames"......
Apparently the Guinness Book of Records has said it is not endorsing this attempt on the grounds that they do not condone starvation in any of their records...

I agree with you, I don't see the excitement in screening a man in a perspex box 24 hours a day for 44 days and nights. Glad it isn't just me.
It will however, be some feat if he acheives it, with only water to consume. All the 'experts' expect him to go mad - if he isn't already!!

What a total waste of a programme - just to see him go into this box and seeing it raise a couple of feet.
Just when it was starting to get interesting the end credits rolled and it finished! lol
No direction that there would be programmes on SKy One or Channel 4 - just details saying that you can follow it on the Channel 4 website or via the red button on SKy Digital!
Whoopee!
Great to see the channel four website on Sky One and also to see the production cap was
"A SKY ONE Production for Channel Four and Sky One"
As the SKy One programme over-ran and still didnt actually cover the event when it began I decided to watch the actual event over on the ITV News Channel.
Chris Rogers got the tone of the piece quite right and was taking the mickey out of him.
Why have Sky One and Channel FOur paid all this money if ITV News Channel could get their own camera there and show the event LIVE aswell!
I can understand SKY News covering it but the ITV News Channel????

David Blaine is a numpty. He deserves the mickey being taken out of him. He totally ruins "magic and illusions" by claiming he really does it. Of course he doesn't do it - he would die if he was left in a perspex box for forty four days without food.

I think he's gone too far this time. Even he acknowledges himself that there is likely to be permanent damage caused by doing this - so why do it. It can't be for the money, because he allready has more of that than he knows what to do with.
And if it's for any type of 'self challenge' type reason - then he's mad. If you acknowledge yourself that what you are going to embark on is certain to cause you serious harm, then you don't do it.
Indeed, this has confirmed my suspicions that David Blaine is quite mad. In starting today, he will not come out of that box until 20th October! Or to put it another way, if he had done this earlier and was coming out today, he would have been in that 7x3x7 box since 23rd July! I can see how anyone can expect to survive under those circumstances, least of all with only water.
Either he'll give up, or I'm afraid he won't make it through this one.
And as has been said, no one gives a toss anyway. It's not like a significant number of people is going to watch him very nearly (or unfortunately I fear, very actually) die through performing this stunt.
