I remember he made a 3D documentary during 3D Week for Children In Need in 1993

Apparently he also thought supporting the Referendum Party in 1997 might have had something to do with him vanishing from TV. Ironically 20 years later that political stance would likely have got him on Question Time every other week.

I wouldn't be surprised if the lucrative advertising deals he signed had an impact on his BBC work.
