The two-announcer continuity is awfully naff from the times I've heard it; the sooner it gets ditched the better.
IT
Well on Friday BBC One used two continuity announcers as it was part of a joke and I thought it worked quite well, certainly lifted the doom and gloom of the Cindy storyline. It was at 19:59GMT. So if a great channel like them can get away with it (seing as none of you haven't mentioned it) then ''Dave'' should go well with it, after all they say it is going to be a witty comedy channel!

Well Bright Ideas was only ever intended to be a Freeview showcase for Style, Food & Gardens. It was always going to be sacrificed once UKTV came up with a better idea (or should that be a "brighter idea" lol).
Yes, it's worth remembering that it only exsisted to show UKTVs originally commissioned programmes. It's quite sad that it has to be ditched to be replaced by one that repeats programmes from 'terrestrial' TV.

Not sure if it's already been mentioned, but continuity on Bright Ideas has confirmed that the channel will be shutting down on 14th October.

This can go here.
Because "Dave" is coming to Freeview and UKTV History and Dave (currently UKTV Bright Ideas) are swapping streams, Smile TV is changing its hours and will use Dave's downtime on Freeview.
It's now going to run 3am-7am effective Friday 28th - Party Girls at 3am, Sumo TV at 4am and Smile TV at 5am-7am. According to somebody on Digital Spy who's read the 7 day Freeview EPG anyway.
