Perhaps it's because those adverts won't go out on any Freeview channels apart from Dave itself and presumably if your watching Dave then you'll know what channel number it is.. but yes, it is a bit odd.

Surely the trailers will be running on UKTV History, Virgin1 and UKTV No Ideas too, which are all freeview channels.

Umm...UK Gold 2 was just UK Gold + 9 with different presentation - the programming was mirrored exactly. UK G2 has always been a different channel entirely.

Indeed, from what I remember for a few years UK Gold 2 simply rebroadcast the 9.00am-6.00pm UK Gold schedule from 6.00pm-3.00am on UK Gold 2.

G2 has been a far greater improvement, probably only because it has a good range of BBC comedies and Top Gear.

Since it won't be called "UKTV Dave" then I presume the person who came up with the rebranding idea from UK...... to UKTV........ was taken outside and shot.

I can't believe there are going to call a channel called Dave, I guess there will be a channel called Chas and Dave next.

I'm not sure about the solid colour on the endboards, but from what I saw going into Top Gear, I liked it. No widescreen though. Pity.

Dave didn't start properly for another 10 to 15 minutes past 7. First the uktv logo, then a Dave promo and a blank screen with nout but a DOG for company. I tuned out after about ten minutes thinking it might not start until noon. Tuned back a few minutes later and Clarkson was driving round the track in an MG.

Of course Dave turns up for his first day at work, late!

Did you really expect there to be? All they've done is updated all the graphics with new branding.... it's not a new channel

Dave had his first mini breakdown just now after QOS, a trailer finished the screen went black with just the dog showing for 15-20 seconds then coming in part way through an ad
