Greg James has been dropped from the channel as Dave wanted him to write his own scripts and record daily, obviously with his show on Radio 1 every weekday, this wasn't viable. His voice still pops up on old bits of continuity though.
Is it not Greg James as usual?

That's a shame. I quite like Greg's announcements

I don't understand that, his show is 4-6 if I remember correctly, that leaves him the whole day to do it? Links shouldn't be that hard to write and record. Whenever Jo Whiley and Scott Mills are on VH1 don't they just use the BBC R1 facilities?

That's right. Like Jeremy Paxman turns up at 10.20pm, does Newsnight and goes home.

Off the subject a bit but a few weeks back Dave changed it's DOG into a circle shape to match the UKTV branding.

Chris Moyles does that most morings, preparation for an early breakfast show (which is largely the same every day) differs vastly to a live tv programme, you would have thought he would be out of the studio and finished for the day by about ten???

A very nieve view you have of the radio industry there. The various DJ's have to attend other meetings and briefings not only regarding their own show, but the station in general. Also, DJs usualy attend music festivals such as Glasto or Radio 1's Big Weekend to present on the station, and work across the BBC platforms. It also takes time just getting out and about creating new material for their show such as pre recorded interviews or in Greg James' case, he is just about to embark on a nationwide tour of 'summer holiday jobs' that students usually are employed in, for a new feature on Radio 1.
There is more planning, paperwork and meetings involved than you think. Then on top of all that, working on other projects (for example I know Greg James and Scott Mills do a lot of gigs at Universities and Nightclubs across the UK) and have some life of their own after all of that! If Greg were to have to write and record links everyday from scratch, this would be pretty hard going for him on top of all the work he does for his show and the rest of the station.
Also, I know Greg traveled to Red Bee to record the links and the Dave Podcast, and did not use Yalding House where Radio 1 are based.
