I'd just like to comment on the Dateline studio they now have. I think it looks good as they have good camera angles e.g. a track camera (a camera on railway lines) which moves around whilst the people are talking which is very effective. The backdrop of the westminster newsroom is good. The astons need to be made a bit more exciting as they are only plain red and some new opening and closing titles would be good. The program itself is good as they have very experienced journalists from around the world who know exactly what they are talking about. What do you think???

Dateline London airs on BBC News 24 every sunday at these times

11.10 Sunday
22.30 Sunday
03.30 Monday

I've seen News 24 track into shot before as the opening to a bulletin - looked very good!

One of the BBC One bulletins did that where after the N24 advert, it tracked out nearly until the end when it faded into the wide shot.

Cheers, Asa

I watch it occasionally. I noticed a BBC News-esque set a couple of weeks ago but it seems to have gone now! Did anyone else notice?

Remember the trailer for Breakfast.

It seemed to imply that in the morning on BBC News there would be a programme with JB (shudder) and Sophie where all that happened was the camera tracked round the desk and they grinned at it.

Meanwhile in the news centre Moira Stewart OBE got lots of phone calls for her big hair.

Some of us have to watch Dateline! They use the set without the gauze for Westminster Live on Beeb2 and regional political stuff.

re the Brekky trailer - that's MoiraStewartOBE to you, H, and JB is still asking when that Washington feed is up...

Yeah but has he got used to 'these early mornings'?

BTW, whats the gauze?

well for regular Westminster prog, they just shoot out into the newsroom. for Dateline they have a gauze curtain that goes round the set, which they can light up nice and pretty, yet you can still see thru to the newsroom.....

I thought thats what you meant!

I seen it a couple of weeks ago but it wasn't use the gauze and you could see the newsroom, exactly how it looks on Westminster Live.

Do you use the gauze on Dateline London anymore? Just wondering as I haven't seen it for a while.

But do they use the Washinton Feed....NO...why, because they are too busy smiling.

They should get Smillie Smillie Carol millie to do Breakfast, she might have a bitch fight with Sophie.

Talking about bitchs (to put it tactlessly) are there any women on this forum?
