So the launch must have been delayed then from January 1987 to a later point, either April or May 1987?

Possibly, though I can't guess what would've been so problematic that it would delay the relaunch by 4 or 5 months.

CHANNEL 4 2004 IDENTS

I wish to ask the following:

* Where were the original set introduced in 2004?
* When did Alien get taken out of action?
* When did Student/sofa get taken out of action?
* When did the Simpson ident first appear?

The Simpsons ident was first aired on Friday, July 13th, 2007. Almost every website erroneously says 2006, but it was done to coincide with the launch of The Simpsons Movie.

Wasn't the first Channel 4 Simpsons ident though, these were three years earlier near the end of the squares look:

Thanks for that. I do wonder where the 2004 ch4 has disappeared to.

By my calculations it's currently floating past Alpha Centauri.....

This thread states the Dockyard appear in July 2006.

Tokyo and Stage were also June 2006.

Island is Autumn 2006

So I take it that these 5 were from 2006. It seems I sported Alien in 2007 can anyone top that?

No it doesn't. It says they should have shown it. Not that they actually did. It appeared on the web, but no one ever reported seeing it on TV.

The solution: a short edit. As with the edits already used on air for some of the longer idents.

Edited or not, I think it's a terrible ident and it's quite obvious why they never did show it on TV.
