Digging around on youtube, I've come across this example of Anglia continuity from 13 February 1988. But what I find really interesting is the dual branded menus and programme slides complete with rainbow ITV logo that Anglia appeared to be using at the time...
What a mis-mash of branding, there's 4 different forms of the word 'Anglia' just in that one clip. And that clock, amazing they were still using that in 1988!
Quite. It's amazing to think that merely months if not weeks later, they'd have gone from having possibly the most antiquated presentation on the network to having the most up to date presentation, including an ident that still stood up well when it was finally retired in November 1999*.
* I have heared rumours that both Anglia and Meridian still occassionally used their regional idents during the early days of the hearts era, although I've never came across any confimation of this.
Yes; in fact I got the slight impression that the Anglia flag had more scope and flexibility design-wise than was actually utilised during its run. That said, they did appear to come up with a number of fairly good promotional ideas at times.

Yes, especially some of the Christmas stuff. I've always felt similar about the BBC '1' logo 1991-7.
LWT did seem to launch anything new at the first week of September (in this case just at the end of August) for the start of the Autumn season.
I always thought that LWT branding was great, it got a bit diluted over the few years it was used though and some things like the trailer boards didn't last long at all

* 1997? Dark blue background with clock type disk, with new music:

???? Moving Blue Background with new music was introduced at the same time as the dark blue background with new music i.e. Autumn 1995.
The date is pretty much correct, as they were commissioned at the same time as the promo graphics featured here

No, I think the confusion lies with the fact that the ITV hearts were used in dual branded trailers and continuity slides a while before the idents were launched.
