Some may be aware, I'm being more erratic than usual, in a passion to try and overcome which seems to be minor issues with pres: http://www.tvforum.co.uk/mediawebsites/slow-death-press-web-33410/

Its really is more passion:, I don't want to change anything editorial, just make sure we dont lose information which will be lost forever! I do believe there are many others that still need to found

I don't think you fully appreciate what erratic means.

I support your endeavour, but I simply ask that you stick a bookmark on your browser bar, in the hopes that your passion for factual information in pres sites extends to accuracy within your written words. It may take a little longer to check each post, but it would be massively appreciated by many.

I believe you are right, I just used the word from someone else that described me metro. It nice to see my endeavour is supported, I do have in built Spell checker, which should pick up any wrong words etc but I get the feeling its still not working fully. I have been told I should jump from Firefox to Chrome as it should have better spelling checker.

The last Friday in August 1986 that ident set was introduced, there's a clip from the Friday night on the private parts somewhere.

Thank you for that: found the clip and it seems it was Friday 29th August 1986, Six o'clock show come back that day aswell with its new look. Also on the clip is Thames weekend news "headlines" before the change over, I take it this was in 1983?

I 've look at that clip again, and well there seem to be on of these Flickrs betweeen Thames and Thames weekend news, before going straight into a LWT jct.

Q: where or who broadcast the "headlines"? LWT or Thames?

Tyne Tees Look North (North East)
YTV began using that ident series in September 1994, most likely the 5th.

ISTR that that was the same time that "Night Shift" stopped.

cheers for that, so that us half way, yet no one seems to be disagreeing with the Carlton idents

The Carlton ones prove correct. They got changed in September 1995 to the multi coloured ones designed in-house at Central, a clip from the first showing is available on the Carlton page of TV Ark.
