Lisa Thiel has been announced as the new female Egghead. Apparently she's also a contestant on the series of Revenge of the Egghead that begins tonight at 6pm.
It seemed to be edited to make Lisa Thiel look a little better than she was with comments from Vine and de Mooi praising her left in which may otherwise not have been included in the final edit. She actually lost a life in the main game whereas one gentleman didn't get any questions wrong at all. Of course, being an Egghead is about more than just answering questions. She had come backs and managed to pull a few faces, so I am sure she will fit right in.
I understand it is Daphne Fowler's last episode of Eggheads on Tuesday (which is tomorrow). There will not be a 2 hour retrospective programme dealing with her life on and off screen featuring archive footage of her game show appearances and contributions from her friends, fellow contestants and game show hosts Jim Bowen, Henry Kelly and Nicholas Parsons as well as a few surprises, as you might expect and hope. Instead, there is just a normal episode of Eggheads on. I have no idea if the fact that it is her last episode will even be mentioned.
The new series of Eggheads started today with the return of CJ de Mooi to the panel, the only reference I saw to his return was made only by CJ. The host which at the moment Dermot also now uses a tablet instead of question cards as Jeremy Vine did on Revenge of the Egghead.
The announcer also mentioned yesterday's departure of Daphne before the show once again.
