I have yet to see dan in 2004 though he's back on BBC weather , saw him last year on bbc, then it was 2000 and the early days of news 24. the first time i saw him the weather was told in a special way, amusing. the descriptions Classics.
"the rain bubbles up"
"the numbers."
"thats the weather.......for now".........quality.
Has anybody seen him, is his format still the same?
I wonder why Dan was on BBC News24 on Monday evening and not since. I hope he hasnt absconded back to the US!!
Although I can't be sure, I don't think the fact that he hasn't been on TV for four/five days means that he has gone back to the US. Many people in many different careers and walks of life have been known to take a few days off.

You never know - he may EVEN be allowed to go on holiday occasionally!
There seem to be so many weather presenters, it's a wonder they manage to find enough shifts to keep them all busy full time anyway!
I'm sure Dan will be back soon enough, with brollies et al.
Dan is doing loads of presenting on BBC World at the moment, so he only appears on domestic weather forecasts in between World weather forecasts. I prefer him on the world ones as there are more "Dan-isms" with all the tropical storms, snow, rain etc!
Obviously we're all missing Dan at the moment, presumably he's on his holidays. But I have to say Carol Kirkwood is almost managing to fill the void. She's far better on the studio-based forecasts than she is on Breakfast, she doesn't seem nearly as hyperactive. I really like her in this setting.
I've also just heard her talking to the woman on Radio 2 and it was hilarious!

More Carol please!

I do apologise! And at least I know what she's called now...
i fleeced my wife of 20 quid once after watching one bulletin on news 24, betting her £10 that he would point his finger, then another £10 again the next bulletin.
she refuses to watch news 24 with me now, costs too much money!!
