Dancing Pandas are back

25 years after Kitkat broadcast its most famous advert, it has brought back the dancing pandas advert. I think its been used in conjunction with new 5 finger bar Of course Shake N vac brought back its old advert aswell.

Old adverts don't seem to get a decent repeat, alas.

I've seen the advert and thought it was made to look old, I've never seen nor heard of the Kit Kat Pandas, certainly not as famous as the Flake ladies, or Shake N Vac.

The Kitkat ad with the dancing pandas, according to YouTube uploads, dates back to 1987.



Oh I don't know. Plenty of them making a return in recent years. Could be a sign of lack of imagination on behalf of advertisers?

I'm pretty sure they have brought back the dancing pandas before, except they simulated a technical problem and it went to a black screen half way though the advert. It then transpires through audio alone that the advert fell off air because the person whose job it was to monitor the output was too busy eating a KitKat. I'm pretty sure I didn't imagine that, but I only can only recall seeing it once.

I seem to remember Birds Eye in 1993 promoting their latest Steakhouse Grills range with a then ten-year-old advert - the one with the workmen in the van singing "We hope it's chips, it's chips" to the tune of Que Sera Sera.

I can't help thinking I've seen that one recently.

5 finger bar? Surely it's four fingers and a thumb?
