Well I disagree there. Are you just talking Dancing on Ice or all reality/talent shows? Because that certainly isn't the case to me.
A bit of both really. Notably with Chris Fountain last year, who was ultimately overtaken by Suzanne Shaw in the final few weeks, and I guess Rhydian is another example - victory was assumed, and ultimately we got a "surprise" result. Even Alexandra to a certain extent on The X Factor last year, though for her the turning point was a few weeks before the final.
Of course though there are examples where the front runner has led from start to finish, but based on gut feeling (and that's my gut feeling by the way, just in case there is any confusion) and how these things usually turn out, I think come finale night the viewers will be more likely to back the underdog so the smart money is surely on Zoe or Jessica to win.
