The set does seem to fit the mould of The X Factor and co with a larger audience and the rink more of a stage. Having compared to previous years, the rink is probably slightly larger.
As I expected, Phil and Holly are together, as I didn't expect Holly would want to be seen as the secondary presenter.
Matt Chapman needs a bit more practice, though no-one is going to be as good as Tony Gubba.

Although in the original taking the views of the judges was kind of the equivalent of the senior Strictly role. Shes possibly doing less now in having to share that with Phil. One of them would have been fine, with perhaps using Jordan Banjo for the training rink interviews.
Don't think this panel is particularly working at the moment.

It was only in the last couple of series the judges started reading their scores after a couple of cock ups with the scores given by the commentator didn't match the scores input by the judges.
I think a bit more rehearsing of the scores is required. Even ignoring the muck up, the judges do seem to not me able to hear when their name is read.

Personally I liked the set overall, and how the leader board was shown. Both my girlfriend and I felt there was an awful lot of 'filler content' to pad out the show. I suspect tonight's show could have easily been compared into 90 minutes. (We're tempted to record it in future weeks in order to fast forward through the ad breaks & padding.) It was interesting to see how the main set linked into the rehearsal room. I guess it also means if there was an incident on the ice in the main area they could quickly cut to the rehearsal area (and fill).
