What puts me off most about Dancing On Ice is the routine takes all of one minute and the dance partners, presenters and judges spend about three minutes talking about it. Also, the cameras have ADHD. I think there should be a new rule in TV: if the subject is stationary, the camera may move. If the subject is moving, the camera should remain still.
Genuine question - why did the BBC never erm 'talk' to ITV about this apparent breach of copyright? Politics? I'd think they'd have a case, unless I'm missing something really obvious.
According to Wikipedia, Dancing on Ice was in development before Strictly Ice Dancing anyway, so if there was a copyright case it wouldn't be as one sided as it may first appear.
Very interesting indeed. Thanks for that. Perhaps I have been very unfair.
It seems this place is not that bothered about this Flagship itv show
Perhaps it's something to do with it being yet another celebrity obsessed ITV programme? I personally couldn't care less if I never saw one of these z-lister filled programmes ever again.
So many breaks. I think this is by far the worst series yet. Too many changes, not many are popular. Most notably, the reaction to Christine Bleakley on Twitter makes for some interesting reading. I know she is very unpopular, that just brings the message to home even more.
Glad to hear no-one is interested. Won't be watching again after tonight I'm sure!

My mother is already turning off the sound when Louie comes on and frankly after his "Remedial Dad Dancing" comment, I'm not sure how much longer he's going to last.

I believe the idea was being touted before Strictly came along - just took a long while to make it to screen.
Not a fan of Christine or Louie at all but both can just about be endured in their roles here. Not rating Katarina though - may be a double Olympic Championbut not quite sure what she is adding here. Karen Barber's role seems to have been reduced even further.
The set is exactly the same - awful in comparison to the first generation.
Christine is doing a perfectly good job - however DOI was Willoughby and Schofield's baby and so it's a shame that this continuity hasn't continued.
Last year, they messed up with the judging panel, this year, they have made it even worse by adding Louis Spence. However, the new judge is great. I miss the 2009 judging panel - with 5 judges including Karen and Nicky.
The titles and theme tune are just change for change's sake - the music is just another uninnovative remix.
Overall, the production is as good as any year, however, I agree with comments made on here that the camera work is a bit jumpy, and the breaks are far too frequent!
