Don't think much to the new titles and music arrangement, sounds all very messy now, may be a grower though I guess. I see they have kept the individual skate on music for each celebrity though which is quite nice.

Genuine question - why did the BBC never erm 'talk' to ITV about this apparent breach of copyright? Politics? I'd think they'd have a case, unless I'm missing something really obvious.

"What time is it? It's skating time? Who with? Chico!"

This programme is not relevant to my interests.

You can't exactly copyright dancing, just like you can't copyright singing or talent shows. You might be able to dispute the format but they're hardly the same shows. Might attract the same viewers but it's like saying Sherlock and Poirot can't co-exist as they're both detectives.

Hmm. I suppose when you put it like that...

This just seems so obvious, though. Even the pre titles is directly lifted from The X Factor/Peter Dickson vibe. I know Strictly itself is guilty of trying to recreate this, but DOI seems so smug without anything really original to back it up. Oh well!

Don't mean this to sound like I'm harping on about copyright again, but possibly because Dancing with the Stars ( Strictly's international name) has sold so well.

According to Wikipedia, Dancing on Ice was in development before Strictly Ice Dancing anyway, so if there was a copyright case it wouldn't be as one sided as it may first appear.

Anyone else remember when Louie Spence was the 'nasty' judge on Cirque de Celebrité? It seems so long ago now and so out of character for him. I think he plays the part of the camp one much better.
