Is the uk the only place still broadcasting this show? I know it was pick up by a few other countries, but never got past 1 series

Champion of Champions could be brought back for another try? in Late summer

Vernon Kay is currently presenting an ice dancing format in the USA, but I think that's linked to the Dancing with the Stars format, not ITV's format.

I look up wiki ( don't ask)

Quote:
based the British show, Dancing on Ice. This show will have a schedule similar to the first season of Dancing with the Stars

I dare say ITV will still get some pennies

I think there are a few around Eastern Europe especially. As for Champions of Champions - I do think considering it looks like it'll air over 12 weeks they'd be better cutting to 13 celebs (making an 11 week series) then resurrect Champions of Champions for the final week.

"Skating with the Stars" seems to have flopped in the US just as "Skating with Celebrities" did for FOX a few years back - though launching off the back of the Dancing with the Stars final probably wasn't the smartest move. They'd have been better off either replacing the Spring series or airing in the mid-season Jan-Feb slot.

TimeSlice have uploaded what looks to be this years title sequence on their Vimeo profile. Not much different to last years, other than the logo at the end and the theme remix by Paul Farrer. Quick glimpse of Torvill and Dean filming them on this too.

What's that freeze fame part showing the blue screen all about?! That's not going to be part of the titles is it?

If you see how Jane extends past the blue screen - that part will have to be rotoscoped (as in, manually "painted" out around her), which they presumably hadn't finished yet.

In advance of seeing it for real in like 5 minutes.

Set is nice but preferred the old one - it had more originality to it. This one is a bit hmmmmm. Interesting that they've moved the judges to the side so that they can't see half of the moves on the floor.

Oh and for the record ITV, don't superimpose a fancy roof on wide shots that clearly isn't there when you're filming moving shots. It just looks silly!

A lot of change for changes sake - none of them are really good for the show, especially handing over control to the public in week 1 where the least known celeb topped the leaderboard and one of the better known propped it up. Eliminating four acts after just one performance is nonsense - never mind paying four celebs to perform just once, but a bit of insult to their pros as well. Perhaps that's why so many haven't returned this year - thank god for Canada though!

As for the changes to the judges - firstly, it has screwed up the very effective scoring system. Although the 6.0 system has long been dropped in Ice Dancing in favour of a system where corrupt judges can't be exposed, in the context of the show it was perfect and tonight's scores out of 10 meant very little.

Also although not all five could comment on every performance it meant the judges didn't get too repetitive - although I'm sure sometimes Nicky Slater would put a low score in to ensure he got some airtime. To axe two skating judges though and keep Emma Bunton is ridiculous. They'd be better keeping Karen on the panel along with Robin and Jason if they're insisting on just the three considering her new role is just to argue with Jason. Torvill and Dean are the ones there to defend the contestants.

The set is nice enough and a long overdue refresh - though not sure about switching the judges and hosting position. Just seems strange at the moment, whilst the background looks a bit empty without the judges during the routine. The small changes to graphics during the show work well enough, but they really could have done with new titles too.

The idea that this is some kind of heat to 'win a place on Dancing on Ice' is ridiculous.

It's started. They've just put too many contestants in. Rolling Eyes
