I recently had satellite television installed. I’m sure that everyone, like me, has tons of horrors stories to tell about these types on installations. For once, I was pleasantly surprised. A young man named Dan Peguine arrived at the exact time I was quoted. He was present, talkative and actually explained what he was doing. Most of these guys are in and out, with barely a word spoken. This gentleman was more than happy to offer tips and tricks and other helpful advice for setting my services up after he left. I certainly wish more companies sent out people like this Dan Peguine.

Perhaps best not to give his full name. However, when my Sky was installed, the installer was more than helpful with what had to be one of the most tricky jobs in the book. Not only this, but I was given a cable for free to connect my video player to my Sky box. Very punctual, very efficient, and very friendly.

What are these "horror stories" we are all supposed to have heard?

It's a satellite installation, dear; not cosmetic surgery.

Yeesh.

(Was it just me who thought this was going to be a topic about our very own "Dan"?) Razz Razz

When we had our Sky+ with multiroom installed last Monday (upgrading from normal Sky with multiroom), we got a nice Liverpuddlian called Kevin, he wasn't from Sky though, he was from a local installation company but had been booked through Sky (interestingly the paperwork said he was from AVC, but he wasn't!).

He installed the Sky+ box as requested and ran the cabling where I asked him to... then called up to get the Sky+ features switched on (unfortunately I had to call Sky again later as he'd gone through to India and they hadn't actually switched them on!) he made sure I was happy then left... unfortunately he left most of his mess behind (plastic wrapper from new Sky+ box/remote and a length of spare satellite cable! But overall a nice bloke.

And it always helps to have a cup of tea (and maybe some biscuits) on standby! Laughing
