ITV1 in talks to bring back Dame Edna
ITV1 is planning to bring back lilac-haired TV host Dame Edna Everage to the network, giving the colourful Australian housewife her first British series in over a decade.

Excellent news... worth a re-run of the late 80s The Dame Edna Experience surely as a warm-up...

Being ITV, I cant tell it won't all be good. Look at the Price Is Right. Cheaper, no more Friday Night feeling unlike Brucies, more rushed, and a repetitive Range Finder. Not to mention the models who seem to do sod all but fling their hands around items. And Bullseye. It seems fine, however not a very good time slot. Did I mention it's not even on ITV?

Let's just hope ITV will get sense banged into their heads and bring back something or someone without any problems.

I'm sure they'll find something revamped that'll be a huge hit soon. Funny, I seem to have sympathy for ITV now Master Allen has gone. Wink

Some of us have been watching "the Dame Edna experience" for years in a central London pub on a Sunday afternoon! Smile

You know, I could actually see a 5pm weekday Dame Edna Show working a treat for ITV.

Whether Barry Humphries would be up for something like that is another matter.

I prefer Barry Humphries as Bert Schnick in the little-known Rocky Horror Show sequel, "Shock Treatment".

Anyone else find it odd that the minute Barry Humphries appears on the BBC's new show "Turn Back Time" with Dara O'Briain, ITV are clamouring to offer him a show?

I assume producers simply sit in front of their TVs with a notebook these days?

I second that. Dame Edna was a stalwart for ITV throughout the 80's and I'm sure she hasn't changed. Maybe a bit ris-que for the 5pm slot but we never know.
