It might get more viewer at that time!

Well at 5.30pm it will be up against Neighbours on BBC1, Paul O Grady/Richard and Judy on C4 so you could be right!

It'll get more viewers at 5.30 than it would at any other time during the daytime due to the fact that more people are watching TV at that time.

I am aware the automatic response to any announcement of a new ITV show is to slag it off, but I thought Supermarket Sweep would have a bit of a cult following on a forum like this?

Well 9.25am would be a good slot like it used to be.

I'm glad Supermarket Sweep is returning. Haven't been up Dale's aisle for a while...

I take it it will come under the 'ITV Productions' banner though as Central is no more, and where will it come from.

I know that ASDA are supplying the goods again (like on Price is Right) and they will sponsor it as my local store has a poster up advertising special "Supermarket Sweep" offers coming soon.

Check it out, check it out...

Maybe it will come from Manchester like The Price is Right. Wouldnt be surprised if its made by Talkback Thames.

I hope they keep the theme tune, I loved that.

To be honest the 1230 slot would have been better - especially as a gameshow hour

e.g.

1230 The Price Is Right
1300 Supermarket Sweep

what competition is there at time of day on any of the other channels?

and then repeated on ITV2 at 6pm.

It's a shame that ITV don't actually utilise the 6pm - 7pm slot on ITV2 better than what they do at the moment - things like repeat of daytime gameshows or chatshows would suit that slot very well and would be a good alternative for the news.

We know how stubborn ITV are, so I can't see it moving back to 1230 for a long period. Even if it did move back to 1230, the gameshow hour could easily begin at 1pm - again what competiton is ther at that time (only at 140pm is there any competition in the form of first-run Neighbours on BBC1)

Not quite right.... Central Studios at Lenton Lane (Nottingham) are no more, Central is still going; although they only do regional programmes and news now-- a sad shadow of its past glory Sad

Talking of Asda sponsership of the price is right, why when they do guess the price of the food do they cover up the asda name on blatent asda own branded products?

Because otherwise it would be considered product placement. Sponsors can't pay to have their products mentioned or featured within the programmes. It's the same reason you never see any Cadbury products on sale in Coronation Street's shops.
