Does anyone remember The Other Half which Dale hosted? It was like Blind Date meets Mr & Mrs meets Cluedo. It ran for four series and was really entertaining but there's not really anything on YouTube. I remember its really catchy theme.

It lasted a couple of series. I remember it for the final game where the prizes gradually improved the more questions they answered correctly with the first two prizes being a trip around Spaghetti Junction and a trip around the M25.

I thought that was Winning Lines.

EDIT: UKGameshows has an M25 trip listed as a potential prize, but doesn't mention the prizes improving with more questions answered dynamic.

Maybe it was Winning Lines that had the Spaghetti Junction prize. I’m not sure.

Eitherway I can see there’s clips of The Other Half now uploaded on the BBC News obituary page. I think it’s a latter series however as I can’t hear the theme tune you’re referring to being played.

Yes, it was Winning Lines. It was the prize for 1 correct answer on the Wonderwall.

It reminds me of when Ronnie Hazlehurst died and everywhere reported he'd written Reach by S Club 7... because of a rogue edit in his wikipedia article. That even made it into the BBC's report on his death where they showed a clip from the video.

The bigger problem with that is that once it's been reported by a legit news outlet, that source can then be used as a citation on the Wikipedia article. So then it's, as far as Wikipedia's concerned, a fact.

Yes, there was an argument with that at the time, with people removing it from the Wikipedia article, then people kept putting it back because they could cite it. Even though the sources cited only got it from the rogue edit to begin with, but Wikipedia doesn't care about that.

I remember someone winning the M25 prize on The Other Half. Ended up not being as bad as it sounded as you got driven round in a posh limo, then got a night in a luxury hotel.

From memory the titles were similar to the Blind Date titles featuring the sofa, where two halves end up forming the logo.

Very unexpected - he'd just done a travel series for Channel 5 hadn't he?

Not sure if they finished airing that - think it got pulled due to the Florida shootings.

Only episode 1 of 3 was broadcast of 'Dales Florida Fly drive' before being pulled. Even though it was a ratings flop, I was looking forward to Ch5 showing the rest of it.....at some point.

Maybe now is the perfect time to re-schedule? Due to the poor ratings in primetime, all 3 eps back to back on a Saturday/Sunday afternoon/early evening might be a good slot and tribute to Dale.

I think there are going to air the remaining episodes in June, I wouldn’t be surprised if they repeat the one episode they did show

My thoughts are with his wife Nell.

The funny thing about that was poor Terry Wogan on Points of View had to explain to viewers who 'queried' about the wedding that it was a mockumentary.

Sorry about that! I think Challenge said there will be another two hours of episodes on Saturday.
