I mean there's a resemblance, but no.

Huw also stated he joined the BBC in 1986 to host "Pet Watch"... when Wikipedia states his career started in 1987.

BBC News have really made a balls up of this.

A cursory check of BBC Genome confirms Dale Winton presented Pet Watch in 1986...

Dale is clearly credited... Wikipedia is just a crowd-sourced document - nothing more... Never treat it as anything more than that.

Well sod me, I stand corrected. I'd googled the name of the show to no avail and assumed his TV career hasn't started til the 90s. I didn't think he was presenting that early on.

Andy Collins does look a bit like Dale there.

But of course nobody remembers that version, so I can only assume a junior reporter is mistaking Dale for Les Dennis.

I also enjoyed when Dale was in Coronation Street playing Gail’s latest partner.

I really don’t see how you could mistake Sir Dale Winton with Les Dennis.

A clean edit of the 2007 Supermarket Sweep revival.

Wasn't another Supermarket Sweep revival in the works recently?

The revival was just as good as the original. Shame it didn’t last for long. The music was good too - just not as good at the 90s stuff. To the best of my knowledge none of that ever surfaced.

Thanks to Scott Mills and Greg James, Dale Winton will also be remembered for those innuendos he used on In it to win it.

BBC article finally updated to remove reference to Family Fortunes.

Some great bits of nostalgia here, memories flooding back. He was a big football fan, sometimes would spot him at the old Highbury.
