62 is no age. I have to say, not entirely a surprise to me, but still very sad news.

Lets not forget Dale's career in radio as well. Started out in local radio and also presented Pick of the Pops on Radio 2.

Indeed, will be interesting to hear Steve Allen tomorrow morning on LBC, they were good friends from when they both started out in radio.

I think they both worked on United Biscuits Radio in the 1970s, a radio station for workers in their factories.

Everyone is aware of Supermarket Sweep, you don’t have to embed a YouTube video of it.

Besides, everyone knows Touch the Truck is his finest hour!

I thought that was Hole In The Wall? 'Bring on the wall!!'

It's not exactly…

…but at least it's not

Will be a first for Steve Allen to nice about something. Hopefully we’ll find out what Dale’s favourite biscuit was.

I can imagine Dale would have been a really good call for Family Fortunes actually.

He always seemed to have really good rapport with the contestants on his shows. Very sad news.

I think he is one of those presenters who you think hosted many shows he actually didn't.

Genuinely shocking news. Was a very good TV host, even if his style wasn't to everyone's taste. Couldn't possibly imagine anyone else bringing the necessary camp pizzazz to Supermarket Sweep that it required.

'Bye Dale.

Huw Edwards just repeated the false Family Fortunes credit.

Small piece on the BBC 10 just now - with a Supermarket Sweep clip complete with Challenge TV DOG most probably taken from YouTube.

They just mentioned on BBC News at 10 that he presented Family Fortunes...

Huw also stated he joined the BBC in 1986 to host "Pet Watch"... when Wikipedia states his career started in 1987.

BBC News have really made a balls up of this.

Edit: Turns out this was right after all. I stand corrected.

Oh dear, Huw Edwards has just mentioned Family Fortunes as well on the actual news.

It looks like they’ve been caught on the hop with this news, nothing more than a garbled few lines from Huw. Nobody in the newsroom obviously has any idea who he is or even a slight idea of his career.
