Yes - Cybernet has indeed been on for a long time - longer than you would think in fact. I know it was on as far back as when ITV had the blurry neon dancers instead of idents through the night.

The narrator/presenter use to be female years ago - can't remember her name, but she was much better than the American guy they have now.

Those were the good ol' days when computer gaming was all about gameplay - I don't find the show really worth watching anymore.

Is Cybernet broadcast in America, or is there no real reason as to why they have an American Voiceover?

Isn't it about time that all of these late night programmes were given an earlier slot to air on ITV2? They'd be perfect perhaps at weekends or late in the afternoon 5/6pm instead of yet more Judge Judy rubbish!

I started to think that the show was an American import after the presenter turned American, but he does talk about British things, such as when certain games are coming out in Britain, who to phone to win competitions etc.

The fact that it's made for Yorkshire Television could also be a pointer... Cool

Cybernet is produced by Capricorn Programmes, who are based near Oxford.

They also produce Movies Games & Videos (used to be on ITV after The Chart Show) plus a few other programmes like Inside Hollywood and Cinema Cinema Cinema.

Good question, it was shown in most regions by 1993, even Granada showed it on a Monday teatime, but they got rid of it within a year and eventually most ITV regions dispersed (sp?) with it, the only region that kept it for years was HTV and I believe Trouble also showed it for some time too.

I have quite a few episodes of Cybernet taped from 2000 and the name of the woman voiceover was Lucy Longhurst. Can't believe it is still 'A Capricon Programmes Production for Yorkshire Television'

Movies Games & Videos is still shown on UTV on Sundays (usually late morning/early afternoon).

I'm sure I can remember seeing Movies, Games and Videos on Meridian in the mid-late 90s...

Movies, Games and Videos still does the rounds on a few of the RSL's, as does Cybernet for that matter, and Gillette World Sport.

I remember it too. It's more than likely that if Meridian were playing it, it was being fed to the Channel Islands too.
