Don't forget that Family Guy is in HD on FXHD.

Family Guy won't go HD until September.

The new series of Family Guy as seen on BBC 3 is still 4:3, never mind HD. Anyway, how would it benefit from being in HD ?

That's what I said, before watching The Simpsons in HD, the colours and outlines look much clearer/richer and plus its 16:9.

It would be interesting to produce a cartoon in 3D ?

Are you asking me or telling me? Wink

Hi, On Wikipedia, it states 4 times that there will be a Disney Channel HD, but does not give a reference. Does anyone know about this?

I think this was registered with Ofcom a few months ago, although I can't confirm it. They launched an HD channel of what was Jetix, changed to Disney XD or something, didn't they? If so, then Wikipedia may be living up to it's unreliability by saying an HD channel is in development when in fact another Disney channel is already in HD, the other one, Disney XD.

Nickelodeon is now in HD, instead of the Saturday mornings on MTVN, I do believe.

UTV isn't in HD yet, is it? Seeing as STV jumped after ITV1 went for a simulcast HD channel, UTV not going HD is a bit odd. Can't be going down well with some of the viewers?

Yes, Disney XD and Nickelodeon are now both in HD. UTV HD is available on VM, and should be coming to Sky soon.

VM got UTV HD first? Bit of a change with most others going to Sky first, if not going to both.

Yes,
Quote:
“Neither UTV nor STV are available on Sky HD due to capacity issues on that platform which we are working to resolve with ITV Network and hopefully we will be on Sky HD by 2011.

“In terms of Virgin Media we will be available on this platform by late Autumn when UTV will be the first Irish channel to launch a HD service which represents a significant investment for an independent broadcaster.”

Capacity issues? That can't be right, can it?

Here's hoping that UTV HD and STV HD make their way onto Freesat soon. The Freesat web site says they will be available this year so fingers crossed...

Of course it's right. UTV and STV effectively get gifted a HD slot on Freeview as it's regionalised - but on Satellite they have to fund their own HD channel as it's not simply a case of using the ITV capacity in NI/Scotland. It's not a case there isn't space for them on Sky, it's just the case they've got to thrash out the carriage deal to get onto Sky.

Is ITV1 HD on the EPG in Scotland/NI?

So it's not right, then. It's not capacity issues.
