Also, can anyone tell me if there is a "Studio 3" at Havelock House? I'm sure at the time of the UTV relaunch in 1993 there was talk of a new studio opening as part of the HavHo extension. Is this the studio refered to as a "unilateral" studio on the UTV plc website, or does that refer to the CTA?

AFAK studio 3 was where the IVC was from - at least they had a logo with studio 3 on it.

There may well be a studio 3, or on the other hand it may have been a fake name for it! They used that name at the time of an ITV campaign to use the channel 3 idea more. C3NE anyone?

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but is Kelly not starting on a new programme early this year? Will this be studio based?

Well, UTV have finally got rid of the usual in-vision continuity backdrop and created a new one in line with the rebrand. It has the yellow bars idea as in the idents, ECPs, promos etc but also has moving yellow lines animating in the background:

You've gota love UTV, they will do anything to save money.

PS, it's quite strange watching IVC with a moving background, isn't it?

UTV have today changed their new idents to include the name of the place. Below is an example from the Belfast City Centre ident:

They have also shifted everything slightly to the left (presumably to make it 4:3 safe) but I haven't seen it on a 4:3 TV yet so I don't know if you can see all of the logo yet!

Classic line from Gillian there at the end of Two Weeks Notice!

Throughout her announcement you could hear the ITV1 announcer in the background but his announcement lasted longer than hers and we heard him say, "Coming up next on ITV1 The Orange Playlist".

A couple of seconds later she comes back just before the credits finish and says, "That's just in case you didn't hear me saying it!!"

Well they have done scenes from Dublin before, and after all the have a bigger audience reach there than they do in the North.

They are also the channel 3 contractor for Northern Ireland and I'd rather they spent their time concentrating their attention on that part of the world rather than anywhere else.

Really, I thought they were some sort of pirate TV company.

So whats wrong with UTV taking their cameras across the border to show us some scenery from the south? Im sure a lot of people from the North dont care where the idents are made, and im sure the powers that be dont care either. So should RTE as the channel 1 contractor in the south, not include a giants cause ident, as its in UTV/BBC NI land?
