The current state of UTV

I wonder if they bought the station would it become the Dublin opt out for UTV which they planned a few years back?

I don't regularly watch UTV in the daytime (or any time)... but noticed today an ECP on the end of This Morning with (I presume) pre-recorded anno' from Gillian Porter. Is this a regular occurance these days? Just a pity they couldn't get her to pre-rec a few annos' for the daytime idents... take the bad look of them

It may have been live but I'm not too sure. Aidan Browne must have been in the building a few days ago as they had him in doing an ECP for Poirot but he had disappeared again by the junction into CiTV. Gillian may just have happened to have been around earlier at that time! Unless someone else would like to clarify?

How difficult is it for a regional station such as UTV to get thier trailers and promos right all the time?

Forgive my cynicism, but doesn't this sound like exactly like Kelly? A chat show with celebrities replaced by... a chat show with celebrities?

No I thought that myself when I read it! I presume this show is going to be the replacement to the network's 5pm output? It does say that it will be pre-recorded on various days, indicating it will be on more than once a week.

Well if they did another live show at 5, it would end up been incorperated in to UTV live and therefore we would end up with an hour and a half of UTV live.

UTV have started airing short break-bumper style promos for Gerry Kelly's new show starting on Friday 3rd March. The show will be called "Gerry Meets..." and sounds identical to his old show except that it's shorter and will now air from 8:30pm to 9:00pm, follwed by repeats of Taggart at 9pm. This will replace the network's offering of A Touch of Frost.

For most of the night now on UTV the animating bars seen on the ecp have been at the top of the screen

Noticed that myself. They seem to appear about 10 minutes before each programme ends, and run right up until the end of the sponsor sting. Quite strange really! Anyone any ideas why it could be happening?

Someone's bu ggered up the DVE template.

Are they definitely repeats of Taggart or the 3 , from about September/October last year that they didn't show because of Kelly
