Hello all,

I am really into Curb Your Enthusiasm at the moment, the US comedy written by Larry David, but some of my mates think it's rubbish. I think the humour is somewhere along the lines of The Office UK series combined with the awkwardness of I'm Alan Partridge.

Any of you think the same or despise it?

I love it.

It's pure genius!

It's been shown here in the Middle East for years.

I've personally never really understood it. LOL. But that's nothing new.

That'll be because Brits just don't get irony.

It's on Sky Atlantic, which is great when you have Virgin Media.

Like Seinfeld its one of those shows that's best appreciated on DVD, its hard to believe that Curb was once shown on E4.

Ah yes, I'd forgotten about that. The days of E4 where it was trying to be exciting and different instead of Desparate Scousewives.

Didn't Curb actually start off on BBC Four?

BTW it reminds me of a more adult One Foot in the Grave Smile

It's a genius sitcom. Admittedly, you spend most of the episode with your head in your hands rather than laughing, but it's all for the right reasons.

Indeed it did, I even remember the odd episode being shown on the BBC Four on BBC Two segment aswell.

I haven't watched Series 8 yet as I was out of the country when it started, damn the lack of promotion More4 offered, so I'll wait until it goes onto DVD.

It's a Marmite show, again like Seinfeld, I know people who don't find Seinfeld funny at all, yet the ones who do think it's one of if not the best US sitcom ever made and that Curb is nothing short of genius.

I picked up Whatever Works recently on DVD on the cheap where Larry David plays a character like himself, albeit this being a Woody Allen film, I'm not expecting a classic or a Curb like film, but LD is a brilliant comic and an underrated actor if you can put it like that.
