Think it's safe to assume it'll still be going ahead...

Although there's no local station on at the moment it appears that the Manchester MUX is back on air with placeholders for Movies4Men, Sony SAB and Argos TV 24/7, with higher LCN's starting at 055.

Well the winner in Sheffield has been announced this week, with the current operators of community radio station
Sheffield Live winning.

And this is their proposed schedule. Note that 5 hours a day a simulcasts of their existing radio services.

I like how they've managed to sum up on one side of A4 everything that is wrong about this idea. I can't wait to see what the BBC ends up buying off them though...

Looks like overnight will be a radio simulcast too - so 10 hours a day is basically their radio station accompanied by "classifieds" - so ads with music basically.

I'm more concerned about "Sheffield Pride"...

Hmmm...

What exactly are 'local archives', I wonder?

The Sheffield Archives are about 100m down the road from Sheffield Live's current base.

It does look spectacularly poor - was hoping for something a bit better (being from Sheffield myself). Local Archives is the only bit I'd be interested in and I don't think that would be for very long either!

'Green, Friendly and Different' sounds like torture to watch..

Seems a bit chicken and egg the allocation of these licences. The DTT network for these services is going to be the most complex in the country, yet the programme services are being licenced with no announcement of the Mux operator. The build out should be underway already if the target on air date of late 2013 is to be achieved.
